From a new interview with Jack Tempchin  -  Rock Cellar Magazine: Is there a difference between the songs you record as an artist and the ones farmed out to others?

Jack Tempchin: Well, no. If someone wants to do one of my songs they can. I don’t care which one it is. Maybe I wouldn’t play certain things for people ‘cause I thought they’re not gonna really respond to that. At one point my friend sat down one night—he was good friends with Brian Wilson and Brian played a couple of songs on the piano and sang them. My friend was just sitting in the corner and said, “What are those, I’ve never heard those?”


And Brian said. “Oh, those are my private songs.”  (laughs) I’m thinking, well, what if Bob Dylan has a whole bunch of private songs? “Oh no, these are just mine; I don’t let anyone else hear these.” (laughs)

Just saw where Brian has a segment on "CBS Sunday Morning" next Sunday July 19th, saw some concert footage, studio footage, and with Melinda.

I took that picture of Toni Tennille , they are on the stage at the University of Georgia in Athens GA! I also saw her the first time at Georgia Tech in 72! I think she is in the background on a pic I took there.

How will Mike & Bruce ever get up the bar Brian set last night? Not to mention, nobody in Brian's band wears a baseball cap! Magic was on the stage at the Fox last night! "All Summer Long" almost knocked me over near the end, such a perfect song!

Hope to see ya there! I am 60 years old, but told I look 59! I'll be with my beautiful wife, look for the prettiest girl in the lobby!

When talking with Al Jardine after a 70's show in Atlanta, he said he didn't like family members on stage. Earlier that night, the most beautiful family member ever in the BB world had gotten on stage, up front and sang during the FFF encore, I loved it, AL didn't! Oh yeah , it was Karen Lamm!

I took the Wiki picture back in the 70's with my Kodak instamatic went in and had a mini-tour. It's the only picture I've ever seen of the joint. I captured history!

Tonight on Fox News, Geraldo Rivera did a "ELVIS AT 80" special, he spoke to Jerry Schilling at length at his home in LA , standing in front of Elvis gold records and awards. But over his right shoulder, among a ton of Elvis awards was a poster of Brian Wilson! The Duke!

They were all three at GA Tech the first time I saw The Beach Boys in 1972 , it was Bruce's next to last gig with the band. I took some Kodak shots, where they are is anyone's guess!

One of my favorites! Brian writing directions to his house in a song, like when he wanted to write song about getting dressed quickly. GENIUS!!

That picture of Brian, looks like a real picture! Not one of the hundreds of scared fake smile photos that have been put out for years. Good for him, hope he's happy!

Maybe when they opened for Elton John back in the seventies? Just as an aside, Georgia played Vanderbilt this weekend, so I saw the BBs back in the seventies at Vanderbilt, opening act, Billy Joel, the crowd actually booed him, he did his Ray Charles impression and won em back. Mike wore his shiny purple outfit with the sun on the front!
