26  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Problem Child on CD on: February 05, 2021, 02:23:47 PM
I've still got my cassette version of "Problem Child" but cannot find it on CD to save my life. Does anyone know where this song is available on CD? BTW, I saw the cassette version on Ebay for 50 bucks.
27  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: How many hours of film would it take to tell the entire Beach Boys story? on: December 31, 2020, 01:35:52 PM
It may not happen (because of Covid), but if the boys do a 50th year "reunion" tour, they could use footage of them playing live to end the movie. Freeze frame them at the right moment (while playing the right song) and then do the voiceover such as "The Beach Boys continue to play concerts, Brian Wilson is still releasing albums, etc. Just a thought, we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. BTW, did I accidentally steal this from another BB movie?

Those are some great quotes. Jack's statement is the brutal truth. The BB's are huge still today despite it all but just think how big they would be if they hadn't blown it so many times.

Thanks for the reply. We'll just have to wait and see what else comes out. BTW, I noticed your Lester Bangs quote. Creem magazine was the best rock mag there ever was and it was always HILARIOUS! LB was the man for sure.

There's been several movies made, but time constraints works against them every time. I've read a ton of music biographies, but nothing touches the BB story. As for book form, it would have to be a four or five volume set. So many stories and so many details.

4. Wake the World - Alt (Wake the World)

9. Passing By - Alt (Wake the World)

10. Time to Get Alone - Alt Instrumental Track (Sunshine Tomorrow 2)

12. Lonely Days - Alternate Version (Sunshine Tomorrow)
13. Our New Home (Wake the World)

23. Even Steven (Wake the World)

To krabklaw; I think Meant For You was intended as an invocation of sorts...

That's the beauty of CD's and computers. You can make your favorite album, too. "Tis all good. Smiley

Horrible news, but having it come from Stephen Desper softens the blow somehow. Boy, do I feel old and sad.  Sad

I miss Carl dearly and wish he was still with us. The music and vibes definitely would be better and we really could use his level headedness and reasoning in the current messy situation we have. RIP, Dear Brother.
37  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / What if Keith Moon had joined Jan and Dean? on: January 28, 2020, 05:07:29 PM
Supposedly, Keith Moon was such a fan of Jan and Dean that he considered being their drummer at one time. Far fetched, I know, but what if it really happened? For one thing, the "signature" surfing drum song is Wipeout. I'll bet Keith would have changed that. And for another, with Moonie's famous wacky sense of humour combined with Jan and Dean's Laurel & Hardy-esque stage show, it would have really been something to experience live.

If I had a vote, I would say no. I always considered The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean as "musical cousins" and I loved them both. If they combined, we wouldn't have had the large quantity of music released by the both of them.
42  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: \ on: January 25, 2020, 05:38:07 PM
To All: First, I will accept the ban right now, I was wayyy out of line. Everyone has a hard time in their life. I chose to take it out on someone who sure didn't need it. I have no excuse at all. I lost it. I feel about an inch high am totally ashamed that I showed the whole world what a fool I can be. I apologize to Stephen and the entire Beach Boys nation. There's no fool like an old fool. Even though, I have blown it here, I needed that smackdown to turn my life and attitude around. I'm so sorry it had to go down that way. I have also made the board look bad and set a bad example of how not to conduct yourself. I have loved The Beach Boys and all the cast, read all the books, etc. So why haven't I been posting? Because the answers to my questions I find on here all the time. The biggest reason is I couldn't think of anything to post that wasn't already here or, worse, I was afraid of getting laughed at. I sure made up for lost time, didn't I. I don't know what else to say except that I deserve it. At first, I was just going to chicken out and run away, but I owe to all of you to "man up" and respond. I'm just a cork on the ocean and maybe I'll see you somewhere down the long promised road. It was fun to be a part of the best  and most knowledgable board ever. I wish you all the best!

To Mr. Stephen Desper: Your candid and openly honest reply to me was quite illuminating and perspective changing. I feel for you in regard to your health problems and understand the complications they can thrust into your life. I hope you find relief. I will propose a deal with you: I will be the one to go away, you need to stay. A lot of people will miss you terribly and I, honestly, will be one of them. Please don't let a curmudgeonly old man run you off. This site needs you more than it needs me. If I find the proverbial wave, grab your board and shoulder hop with me. PEACE!

EARTH to Stephen Desper: You used to be a really cool dude. What happened? Now, you radiate negativity and seem to enjoy belittling people. Your pedanticism knows no bounds. I'm disappointed in you. Catch a wave, dude!

Ahahahahahhahah, oh man, you really need to get some air and have a laugh bro, you're taking meaningless things way too far..
does my posts really looks that seriously? jesus christ. it's a freaking banana gif, holy moly.

Sorry man, just go on with this John Stamos conversation.
Looks like you're the one who's too serious and VERY defensive, even insecure. As for getting air, you've got enough in your meaningless head to supply the next NASCAR race. Don't want to fight, but I didn't appreciate your uncouth reply.
46  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Stamos on: July 02, 2012, 04:13:30 AM
Great post. If anyone knows the real facts about The Beach Boys, it's Andrew G. Doe.
47  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Stamos on: July 01, 2012, 03:06:50 PM
A figure dancing around is too complex to comprehend? My post must have been the complex one since I was merely indicating that I thought it was a strange reply. But that's okay, because strange is HAPPENING these days, my friend! No worries, Zig, it's cool. Catch a wave.

So I guess the Rolling Stones will be bringing in Harry Potter. Maybe he can play kazoo and washboard.
49  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Stamos on: June 30, 2012, 08:54:54 PM
why? because they needed someone young and hip back in tthe 90's to bring their music to a younger gen,now it's more or less a "throwback" to the 90's
How pathetic

WTF?
And yes, Stamos is probably best forgotten.
