I listen to Howard every morning he's live and I generally enjoy most of the shows on his channels too. I've heard the 1998(I believe) interview with Brian but not the 88' one. Also, I've been trying to track down the Mike Love interview with no success. Anyone who has any info where I can hear these, it would be appreciated!

Man, Am I glad that I don't have your taste. And you as well. Maybe I smoke too much reefer but I honestly think this album is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be! Passing Friend is good for the era, so much better than most of the crocks of sh*t coming out in '85.

This concert will forever go down as the Auto-tune fuckfest. It was sooooo bad and soooo obvious, robo-Brian and robo-Mike were in FULL effect. I know it was recorded in April but geeze the auto-tune never had to happen. I feel especially bad for the crowd at the first few shows where they used it. That night in Pittsburgh they were all so strong with their vocal deliveries, I would never of thought they would have considered it. Basically, f*** Joe Thomas. Time changes vocals (except Al) over time but the tone and overall vibe of their voice (i.e Mike's nasal delivery or Bruce's shimmering voice) is always there. I just think auto-tune was/is a horrible decision for anything live. The album, whatever, just never again live. I'd rather hear the air puffs from an oxygen tank while these guys are celebrating their 60th instead of any B-pain bullshit!

1. "Getcha Back" 2. "It's Gettin' Late" 3. "Crack at Your Love" 4. "Maybe I Don't Know"
5. "She Believes in Love Again" 6. "California Calling" 7. "Passing Friend" 8. "I'm So Lonely" 9. "Where I Belong" 10. "I Do Love You" 11. "It's Just a Matter of Time" 12. "Male Ego" Seriously, take out those 4 songs and give it a listen. Of course it has some 80's flare it is BB85! Every band, group or act was tainted by the 80's sound/fashion in a way. The songs are catchy and listenable if you can get use to the production. 3.5/5 but I'll round it up to 4/5.

Before I heard the song I was hearing some sh*t talk about the lyrics in SV. After listening to the full song, I like it! It's a pretty laid back tune but I don't really get the elevator music laid back vibe, more like, smoking a joint outside in the sun kinda laid back. I like the "Get up, Get up" part. "Isn't it Time" is another contender but I think the BBs will side with SV over it just because it's more commercial. "Shelter" would be a horrible choice since Foskett has his skeet all over that track, blegh. I can't wait for this record.

I personally love the Wall of Brian's and a lot of GIOMH. At least it shows Brian for who he was and how he sounded at that time. I almost feel greasy after listening to Imagination because of the slickness. At first I couldn't believe why in the hell they would pick JT again but it doesn't sound like he's over cheesed the new record so whatever. The guy is helping them get a new record out and helping with a dvd etc so it's hard to hate him right now but I wish Brian had some damn gull to go in there and write some completely new tunes like the genius he is but that's never gonna happen again. I don't know where I'm going with this other than JT isn't as much of a BB criminal as I thought but I still don't trust him till I hear/see everything he's involved with.

Wow. Sorta iffy in the middle but this is going to be one amazing album!
I really dig "Think About The Days", "Isn't It Time" (YEAH AL!), "Spring Vacation" I don't know why but I actually like this one, "The Private Life of Bill and Sue" The quirky BW instrumentation in the beginning is awesome, "Shelter" would be better if one of the real BB's did Foskett's part, "Pacific Coast Highway" Brian's voice makes this for me and "Summer's Gone" made me shut my eyes and it took me somewhere else for 29 seconds, only the the BB's.
The title track of course is good too but that's been covered elsewhere although it does sound like a new mix. "Daybreak Over The Ocean"(hard to tell if Mike's going for the psychedelic vibe or the cocktails in paradise vibe), "Beaches In Mind"(good beginning, lame chorus), "Strange World" (meh) and "From There To Back Again" aren't unlistenable to me but I don't feel like they are as strong as the others. But we'll only really know until we hear the full tracks because a Dave guitar solo or BW falsetto we didn't hear in these clips could easily elevate any one of these tracks.
I can't wait to get my best pair of studio headphones and the biggest joint I can roll for this record. Long overdue but soon will be time for the BB fanatics to receive the album they deserve. I'd love to see another record if they can do it. I know they have the material, it's just the whole age and time thing. Anyway, sounds like a great album. I hope this gets some national airplay even though I hate popular radio.

I had a BLAST last night! My throat is sore from all the screaming I did when I rushed up front for the encore, sheesh! The BB's sounded better than I've heard in years and not just saying that because I was there! I was actually surprised of the power in Mike's voice last night and how Brian was really on target too. Al doing the "Come and Go With Me" part was so cool(he sounded effing powerful as well), I just wished they would of played the whole thing so I yelled "KEEP GOING!" to no avail. At one point I screamed "Honkin' Down the Highway" with Al giving a small "Ooo" but of course it didn't happen either. I have a few videos including TWW, TWGMTR and some of IJWMFTT that I'll post on youtube soon. There was no comparison of TWGMTR at this show to the Fallon performance, they nailed it last night. Bruce sounded a little raspy on Wendy but he KILLED "Disney Girls" I couldn't believe how awesome that sounded I only wish I could of got a video of that. Superb show will a bumpin' Pittsburgh audience give or take a few dudes in Hawaiian shirts and soccer moms but everyone was gettin' down! At the end of the show Mike was hanging around in the wings so I started screaming "MIKE LOVE, NOT WAR!" which prompted some old deadhead guy to tell me how awesome I was for making that up (hahahhaha). I'm honestly thinking about buying tickets for the Cincinnati show because nothing compares to seeing them LIVE. My mind is thoroughly blown.

Love You is fucking great. Brian Wilson could sh*t out something more creative than all of us. Personally, I've never been into "Trader", "Rock N Roll Music" (I love the original Berry and The Beatles versions though) and "Heaven".
Trader I can at least listen to but it seems to drag on a bit without much going on. RNRM is the pinnacle of Mike being some sloppy Mick Jagger clusterfuck but, I gotta admit I love the background vocals. Even though Heaven is on Carl's 1981 solo album The BB's played it live in the early 80's. It has some moments but overall it's manufactured 80's crap.

Don't get me wrong, Stamos is the epitome of cheese. Buuuut, that was pretty cool on his part. It harkens me back to those unpleasant and even awkward feelings I have every time I listen to SIP. I think Stamos doing it live is better than the Dennis thing. I don't know why but the Dennis and Carl video performances always sounded lame. If I have to pay hundreds of dollars for a ticket(s) then I want to see Brian sing GOK or at least see Dave do Forever.

Last night's show really struck a chord with me. The Brian and Mike interview was amazing considering BB interviews of the past. It had a surprisingly nice flow throughout with some actual funny moments (not like most of the horseshit banter on late night shows) like the Elvis thing and how that was the first time Brian saw the TWGMTR album (lol). I love to listen to Brian speak nowadays and hear him say certain words or phrases that sound like the "younger Brian". He tends to slurr more often but when he's engaged and talks with more force (Like when he talks about WDFFIL for a second) you can hear that old (young) voice in him, I love it. The performance's were just as momentous. In My Room had such an aura about it especially with Dave being there. The mix was nothing short of amazing especially since the Foskett Train has been full steam ahead and no autotune! I seriously think the person who mixed last night has been reading some of the sh*t talk on this forum because they really got it together. TWGMTR was good but rough vocally especially on the "Fallin' in love" parts, Brian was sooooooo off. My girlfriend commented "That doesn't sound like their best.." I said "Well what do the Boys or Brian really have to prove anymore? This is TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE, the fact these guys are still performing... on television... doing a BRAND NEW song. That's all I can want or ask for." WIBN was awesome despite the lyric flub but, again, who cares? Al still wails and Mike is seeming to get a second wind vocally (Just think about the Regan performance). Basically, I am PSYCHED to see them LIVE this Friday in Pittsburgh. Honestly, I never thought I'd have the opportunity to see my favorite band, ever. This whole Tour/Album/Celebration thing is a dream come true for any BB fanatic. There's still so much more in store, I can't wait.

Sounds horrifying. How about "Love You" the musical featuring depressed cokeheads as they scrounge the venue floor for the roach someone dropped. Seriously, the whole "Surf" bullshit that the mindless public has forever associated with the BB's is disgusting. Why won't they attempt to play some deep cuts and not harp on the paradise island nonsense, should of known.
