Who's the white haired guy singing next to Jeff Foskett?

That post is one of the silliest + funny post"s ive ever read on this board, THX for the humor..!!..But lets not forget reality...You Again..Full House ..Home Improvement..Kept the BB profile high on the food chain in 80"s + 90"s..It is what it is
I would argue that there would be a higher regard for the Beach Boys if they'd avoided that kind of publicity and let their Pet Sounds legacy define them.

Brian is singing on Kokomo and he clearly does not know the words.  LOL

I would not suggest watching past Kokomo.  Barbara Ann is kind of painful to watch.  Dave Coulier is the last person I want to see sharing a microphone with Carl Wilson.
2505  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Can a Reunion Tour Have Two Band Leaders? on: January 17, 2012, 09:27:14 AM
Who's going to play bass?
Very wishful thinking but Brian perhaps?  Cool
2506  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Are there any female members on this board? on: January 17, 2012, 09:05:33 AM
No wonder people on here are so angry.  We need some ladies to even us out.
2507  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Are there any female members on this board? on: January 16, 2012, 06:19:27 PM
I'm just curious, it seems like most of the members are male.

I hope she'll be on the Beach Boys reunion tour.
2509  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Tattoos of the Beach Boys on: January 15, 2012, 01:10:17 PM
On the In Concert photos Mike Love is sporting a rainbow on his arm but I am not sure if it is a tattoo.
Haha, how ironic considering how  homophobic he's reported to be.
2510  Smiley Smile Stuff / Welcome to the Smiley Smile board / Re: Hello Smilers! on: January 15, 2012, 01:06:28 PM
I've heard 15 Big Ones and Love You.  I don't mind 15 Big Ones, it's definitely not terrible and I love Just Once In My Life.  Love You is definitely in my top five Beach Boys albums.

That kind of reminds me of that Extras episode when the producers make Andy put Chris Martin from Coldplay on his sitcom.

2512  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Anybody else think the official Beach Boys website could use some redesigning? on: January 14, 2012, 12:42:28 PM
Sure, it looks nice but it has very little information regarding discography and personnel bios.  I suppose Wikipedia is good for that but it's always nice to have a definitive source.  I personally would like to see a Beach Boys website designed like the Rolling Stones website.
2513  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Anyone Here Into Radiohead? :] on: January 14, 2012, 12:37:00 PM
I'm so jealous of anyone who gets to go to Coachella this year.  They have such a good lineup but I'm all the way in New Jersey.

I think In Rainbows is my favorite.  It was the first album of theirs I'd heard, I think it's just perfect from start to end.  As for favorite song, I would probably say Pyramid Song.
2514  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Best live act you've ever seen in person. on: January 14, 2012, 12:06:16 PM
Probably a tie between Springsteen and Arcade Fire.

They are one of my many other music obsessions besides The Beach Boys.  They haven't made one weak album since the mid 90s, it's pretty incredible that they've remained so prominent in the music world for so long.  Plus they've stayed together!  From the start, they've been the same band, no member has ever left or quit.  They're starting a tour soon, I'm really hoping I'll get to see them, I never have before.

Cameron Crowe I would consider no real loss.
Ah, I take it you haven't seen Almost Famous?

Mentioned before but great Brian-ism clip. LOL

That's the best laugh I've had yet today.  Gotta love Brian.

Also, weird that the baby in the video would grow up to be one of the Olsen twins.
2518  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Rolling Stone Readers: The 10 Most Anticipated Tours of 2012... on: January 14, 2012, 06:27:53 AM
and to cut Rolling Stone some slack, this list is the result of a poll.
I don't get all the hate for Rolling Stone.  They have some great articles and talented writers.  Without Rolling Stone, there would be no Cameron Crowe, Annie Leibowitz, or Hunter Thompson.

Some of the comments at the bottom are disturbing.

You call a bunch of songs about surfing that all sound the same as "genius"? This guy is one step removed from a commercial jingle writer.

Sorry, but the Beach Boys (which I am a fan), are nothing more than an overrated beach band.  They stuck with a genre that died out in less than a decade.  Sure, they made some good tunes, but it was not "revolutionary.  He was trying to compete with the Beatles, it is obvious through his own words - Pet Sounds was him trying to compete with Rubber Soul.  And he had a mental breakdown when he heard Sgt. Pepper's...

Seriously... this guy still holds on to the idea that he didn't copy "Sweet Little Sixteen" when he wrote "Surfin USA".  Come on!

He had a way with harmonies, but other than that... there was nothing great about it.

 Embarrassed
2520  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: New 50TH Annv. Celebration Merch!!!!! on: January 13, 2012, 12:42:50 PM
It doesn't make any less sense than having half-assed covers of Rock and Roll Music and Come Go With Me rather than Caroline, No or Sail On Sailor.  Honestly, I don't take that collection very seriously, some of the song choices are baffling and the track order is too all over the place in my opinion.  Classics Selected by Brian Wilson is a superior compilation in my opinion even if it's less comprehensive.
2521  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: New 50TH Annv. Celebration Merch!!!!! on: January 13, 2012, 12:28:50 PM
On the Sounds of Summer reissue, they should use the Smile Sessions mixes for Good Vibrations and Heroes and Villains to make it more current.  Plus it would make sense to use the new version of Do It Again in place of the original.
2522  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 2012 Tour fantasy setlist on: January 12, 2012, 06:58:02 PM
If they do something remotely similar to the song selection on Live at the Roxy, I'll be satisfied.
2523  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Rolling Stone Readers: The 10 Most Anticipated Tours of 2012... on: January 12, 2012, 06:48:44 PM
bruce springsteen? don't they tour all the time anyway?
Springsteen hasn't toured in over two years.  This will also be his first series of concerts since the death of Clarence Clemons.
2524  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Most 'Psychedelic' Song on SMiLE? on: January 12, 2012, 05:54:57 PM
I don't know, for most of the songs on Smile, I think the childlike innocence of Brian is represented more than psychedelia.  But Good Vibrations is pretty much the definition of psychedelia.
2525  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Stamos In Reunion on: January 12, 2012, 05:51:50 PM
I'd rather see Stamos than Jeffrey Foskett.
Really?  I love Jeff Foskett.  I think it's amazing how he can hit those high notes despite his age.  Stamos on the other hand... well, I mean, I liked him on ER but I really don't want to see him as a Beach Boy.
