Is this where we learn this was all an elaborate April fools prank?
2  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / The SMiLE Sessions Volume 2 Announced on: April 01, 2016, 12:55:06 PM
Coming this fall as a 2 CD set.

"In 2011 we released a mostly definitive 5 CD box set chronicling the sessions of the unreleased Beach Boysalbum, SMiLE. As comprehensive as we were there were still things that were excluded for one reason or another. Here we hope to gather the Best of what's left. Here we find some more sessions from when Brian was at his best in the studio. Also included are some A Capella tracks that still exist on the original master tapes. We also included more of the sketches Brian and company recorded durring the album giving a better glimpse into the humor element of the album. Paul McCartneys legendary visit to the studio is included as well with a jam session of  'On Top Of Ol' Smokey' the result. Also included for the first time are the recently unearthed Inside Pop vocal session that were captured by a film crew in 1966. New stereo mixes of select tracks were assembled using these tapes. The footage is currently being remastered for an upcoming Beach Boys retrospective. The set rounds off with various smile related recordings from 1967-1979. We hope this set will bring a sense of finality with the SMiLE sessions who's legacy has grown for half a century."

First the Smile surfboard now a Pet Sounds beach ball? Can they make more misguided merch?

I wonder If these will be real Brian sigs or more forgeries?

So great to finally have the partial vocal good vibes master. Been waiting forever for that to see official release

Wait, so this 'unreleased' GV master is actually a partial master containing isolated vocal tracks? Is this what I'm getting at? That would be a holy grail release if true!

Not all vocals are lost from the single master tape. There's partial verse verse vocals and some other vocals that still exist. If you search out the 1988 rough mix smile set that's from the tape Mark assembled you can hear what vocals still exist on the master tape. Hopefully this can result in a true stereo mix with the partial vocal.

I'm surprised that last passage didn't end with "And then I boned Marilyn."

Boy I bet some legal representatives are going to have a field day when this comes out.

For $100 can I get him to dress up like a police officer and stage a home invasion to beat me up? Or is that extra?

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what generic sleeve this tying was sold in. A capitol sleeve? A unique brother records sleeve? I can find pictures of the various picture sleeves online but not the generic sleeve. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

15  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Best radio ad ever? on: June 05, 2014, 12:13:00 PM
I want to say a stand alone WH ad exists but I am not in possession of it.

Here are the two radio promos for Summer In Paradise:

Here's a joint ad for Magical Mystery Tour and Wild Honey from 1967.

If anyone has any other radio ads for Wild Honey I'd appreciate them. I'm also looking for ads for other capitol era albums. I will upload more radio promos from my collection today.

That is definitely not a legit product. Looks like someone got the mp3s off iTunes and burned them to cd. Never heard of Brian Wilsom either.

Do the 1980 overdubs for Can't Wait Too Long circulate in any form?

Does anyone have the Eastern Airlines commercial that features a rerecorded "This Whole World?" I've been trying to find this track for ages and any help will be appreciated.

The beginning of the end. They should have recorded a song called "Good To My Baby Again: Gooder To My Baby" instead.

Ballad of Ole'r Betsy/ Shut Down, Part 3 could've been the biggest hit single of '67
