Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Carl and Dennis as Holograms

The thing that attracts me about holograms would be the technical aspect, just to see how it would look like with Carl & Dennis. To me, a hologram is really nothing more then a 3D film clip, nothing tasteless about it. It's like using Carl's voice for new recordings like "Soul Searchin'", "Don't Fight The Sea" and how Brian remembers them in songs like "Southern California". But don't worry, it certainly won't happen.

The sirius.fm broadcast is supposedly going to feature cuts off the new album - I'd say that it's highly probable that we will hear TWGMTR sometime tomorrow.
Not sure. The Sirius-concert will be recorded April 19, but broadcasted May 26.

Holograms of Dennis & Carl? That would be interesting, why not? Imagine the Beach Boys today on stage, "God Only Knows" starts playing and suddenly Carl is there singing lead. Or the Beach Boys leave the stage and there he is, Dennis Wilson, singing "You Are So Beautiful". Or just for fun, the Beach Boys now performing a song together with the 60's Beach Boys.

There is much more on-record to smh at for Mike than for Foskett and Melinda. Everything on them is just he said/she said.
What do you mean with on-record, written in books by people who were not there back in the day and just invent and copy stuff that was written in other books? It's like the thing that Mike once asked Van Dyke Parks what "Over and over..." means which developed to the statement that he didn't support Brian during the SMiLE sessions. The truth is, Mike told what he honestly thought but still sang and supported. Same for Pet Sounds. Allegedly, some Beach Boys wouldn't show up or leave SMiLE vocal sessions. The truth: The only BB who cancelled SMiLE sessions was Brian. I think he even left VDP alone with a studio full of violin players. Although I'm not even sure if that's true, because it was written in the same book that mentions a fight between Brian & Mike over Redwood + "Time To Get Alone" which isn't true either. Mr. Positivity - I think one of the things that made the BB work was that there were different personalities. The group needed a positive force, self-confident frontman like Mike as much as a crazy genius like Brian. Wouldn't have worked with five troubled souls like Dennis & Brian.

I say let's end the Jeff Foskett discussion. We've probably hurt his feelings pretty bad by now. Yep. I sometimes wonder if those BB people need antidepressants after they read BB message boards. Stage 1. Bashing Mike Love (lasted about 35 years) Unjustified and one of the saddest things in BB history IMHO. He didn't deserve that.

There are two sides in the BW camp. The people who treat Brian like a human being, and those who are milking the cash cow. This is not a statement from me, this comes from inside the band. And the inference was that Jeff is on the latter side. That's really sad. I just hope that the 5 BB will perform or sing at least one song alone during the tour. That would be so cool.

Carl had quit smoking well before this video was taped.
A relative of mine was classmates with Carl and he said as young as 14 or 15 years old he would come into class reeking of cigarettes. He definitely smoked long enough to have his teeth stained. Why are we even talking about this? It's not like the way his teeth look detract from the beautiful performance we're very lucky to be able to watch. Perhaps I'm blind but I don't see that something would be wrong with his teeth here. When I was 15 I had classmates with much darker teeth then Carl here. What I really wanted to post: Great performance!

Wouldn't make it to the end of the 24th. Probably not. Another great idea comes to mind: Why not performing the complete discography in a marathon concert? That would please everybody and would get them in the Guinness Book of World Records. Honestly, I don't care that much about what they play, it's great enough that they do a tour together.

I think Warmth of the Sun is a "cast-iron certainty".
I think so too. Like "God Made The Radio" it has a Mafia-connection. It was written the day JFK was killed. So the BB were already in touch with the Mafia in 1963. Another song they'll perform for sure is "Good Vibrations", can't wait to see both Mike & Brian doing their hand choreographies during the chorus. As mentioned before, "California Saga Pt. 3", what else? "Do It Again", "Barbara Ann"

Looks like this single will be the most silent BB release ever if it really comes out next week. Hard to believe actually. No official announcements, no preorder options, no updated websites...

I love BWPS, it's the real deal for me. BWPS is the little brother of the unfinished 1967 SMiLE and TSS the little brother of BWPS and SMiLEY SMILE the son of TSS. Only complaint about BWPS is that it doesn't include "With Me Tonight", "He Gives Speeches" & "You're Welcome".
