Sounds great so far.....but what did you do to H&V? The backing track is lower than on the mono and I can't even hear the drums (unless there's something wrong with my system).
This was a big complaint of mine regarding the Stereo H&V on the boxset. The mix is just awful. No excuse, hold your hands up Linett, terrible. Once the backing vocals kick in on the verses, you may as well call it an acapella!! I added the instrumental track on the Stereo H&V, now it's perfectly balanced.

It's just the Version 1 instrumental track with extracted vocals (maybe not even extracted, I can hear the marimba instrumental) so it's most likely the track as we know it with the Celesta/Harpsichord instrumental crossfaded and layered on top of it. No idea where the laughter comes from but I like it
But it's most probably a fan mix, it's almost exactly what I wanted to do in my mix as soon as my stereo SS version is finished

Looking forward to it!
Thank you! It will include a 6 mn Wind Chimes so watch out! It sounds like it's going to be rather long-winded. I'm actually working on a Smiley SMiLE blend of both songs! And I just realized that my only chance of having a stereo Wonderful is with using SOT 18 (stereo smiley smile version), so I guess that'll be a blend of both versions. I tried to slow down the speed of the SMile version backing track to adapt to the stereo SS version, sounds like it's gonna be difficult but possible.

To make this work the piano demo is the only thing that you must let as it is, without changing the speed at all. It's the backing track you need to adapt to the demo, not the contrary. I think they did it "the wrong way" on TSS Disc 1, that's why this particular track doesn't work for me. Your ears will concentrate on the piano demo with vocals automatically, it's confusing if you change the speed or if you cut it, it's the main rhythm on which everything else has to sit upon. Doing it the other way worked better for me (no pun intended)

It's in the center of the signal, I don't know. Try to OOPs it in Audacity (import track, click on the upper corner on the left of the track, click "split stereo track", then click on the same corner of each track, click "mono", so that you have 2 mono tracks instead of 1 stereo. then choose one of the tracks -not both-, go to "effects > invert)
Thanks Bleachboy, would you mind trying that in audacity to see if it works? I would but I don't have the album
