I know people might be opposed to new re-releases of the Capitol Recordings at this point, but it seems like the best way to get unreleased material at this point would be in the form of mini box sets i.e 1961-1963, 1964, 1965 etc. This could be a good way of them unloading different sessions material. Even better is that they could include Mono/Stereo mixes + rare tracks + session material and alternative takes. You could also include Live albums respective to each release. One example would be to include a 3-Disc Deluxe Version of Today! Which could have the Mono/Stereo versions, rehearsals, backing tracks, vocal sessions, Mike's version of Please Let Me Wonder ect. A 1965 box set would include a 3-Disc Today, 3-Disc Summer Days, 3-Disc Party and the 2-CD Live in Chicago concerts. Pet Sounds and SMiLE would stay the same. A 1967-1969 box set would include 2-CD Smiley Smile, 2-CD Wild Honey, 2-CD Friends, 2-CD 20/20 and the Lei'd in Hawaii, Michigan and London Concerts. A 1970-1971 box set would include a 4-Disc Sunflower (including Landlocked material), a 3-Disc Surf's Up and the Seattle, Filmore East and Carnegie Hall Shows.

I certainly celebrated his birthday, by listening to his music as much as possible. (Just like most days) In fact I was unsure whether or not they're was going to be a singular birthday thread, and I didn't actually see this until just now. But every day is Brian Wilson Day as far as I'm concerned!

I honestly think its crazy that gems like these haven't had an official release (yet): Big Sur (4/4) Carry Me Home (Yeah, I know they vetoed it being on MIC) Hard Times California Slide (I'm Going Your Way) Awake (Demo) Please Let Me Wonder (Mike Lead) Little Red Book (Demo) Walkin' (Demo) It's A New Day Add Some Music (Alternate Lyrics) Tears In The Morning (Alternate Version) My Solution (I would argue that there's enough novelty value for a release) Won't You Tell Me (Demo) Out In The Country (Both versions, honestly) Sweet & Bitter Daddy Dear/Susie Cincinatti (Demo) Rollin' Up To Heaven (Maybe a bit X-rated, but its sure a fun listen!) Short Skirts (Catchy instrumental) Sea Cruise Marilyn Rovell You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling That Special Feeling (Demo) Calender Girl Please Darling (I'm Begging You Please) Drip Drop (Teardrops On My Bed) River Deep, Mountain High Stevie Oh Lord I Feel So Fine Water Builds Up Don't Let Her Know She's An Angel Do You Have Any Regrets Brian (Thank You) Chain Reaction of Love This Could Be The Night It's Not Easy Bein' Me You could also collate all the available outtakes (released or otherwise) and create Deluxe Editions of every album. For example, you could make a Deluxe Version of Love You with the following tracks added: 15. It's Over Now (Demo) 16. It's Over Now (Love You Audition) 17. They're Marching Along (Little Children) (Love You Audition) 18. Still I Dream Of It (Love You Audition) 19. Love Is A Woman (Love You Audition) 20. Mona (Love You Audition) 21. Airplane (Love You Audition) 22. Let's Put Our Hearts Together (Love You Audition) 23. I'll Bet He's Nice (Love You Audition) 24. I'm Bugged At My Old Man (TV Rehearsal) 25. I'm Bugged At My Old Man (TV Special Version) With Disc Two being the Adult/Child album of course.

I must say that I really enjoyed myself last night. - I know it's stated a lot but Al can REALLY belt it out still, its ridiculous how he sounds just as good as he did 40 years ago. - Matt Jardine is an incredible addition to the band, and for me personally.. a big improvement on Foskett's whinier, bellowing falsetto. (IMO) - Brian seemed to be having fun and looked really relaxed at different moments throughout. - Al's performance of Help Me Rhonda was the clear favourite of the night, everyone was dancing their asses off for that one! - As it should be, God Only Knows got a huge ovation. - Paul Von Merten's stole the show on numerous occasions. - The crowd gave a most British rendition of Happy Birthday for Nikki Wonder. - Funky Pretty! Wow! Talk about deep cuts! - Blondie was an absolute rock star on stage. That version of Wild Honey could have gone on forever as far as I was concerned. - This was one of the most respectful audiences I remember witnessing at a Live Show for a major act. Everyone was so supportive of Brian and the band. Every song got huge applause. - It should be pretty obvious, but the Palladium is an absolutely beautiful venue. - I would have liked to see some more songs post-Holland, besides Love & Mercy there's a solid gap of 42 years between songs! - Brian's voice isn't as good as it was a few years ago, but the way he's going I could honestly see him doing this for another 10 years if he wanted to. (Although if anyone deserves a rest from touring, it should be him) - It was lovely to see some gems like Wake The World and Add Some Music get played, I wish we could have heard Honkin' Down The Highway though! - Brian's sense of humour came out tonight, and there were some unintentionally quite funny moments. One example is when they introduced the band one by one to audience applause, and then Brian ends up coming out at the same time as Al Jardine anyway. - Matt's lead on Don't Worry Baby was perfect. - Despite his vocal vulnerability, Brian still has a good mid range when needed, such as on Good Vibrations. - Although i'm fortunate to get to see the band in the US in July, I really hope this isn't the last time they come to the UK. I'd love a SMiLE tour, but a part of me would just love a new album tour. (Especially with Joe Thomas out of the picture) All in all, an excellent night. I took a video of God Only Knows too, not amazing quality, but I had to capture part of that experience for myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on0mBEz5TTE&feature=youtu.be
