When the final book is written about the recording of TWGMTR, I would be very surprised if the full band was ever really together at the studio. Most of the tracks were done, and Brian and Jeff had recorded all the parts. With the exception of a couple of tracks developed in studio (Isn't It Time), all the guys had to do was reproduce a Foskett or BW line played in their headphones. Brian didn't even need to be there -- and would it really surprise anyone if he wasn't?

Cher and John & Michelle Phillips lived in the neighborhood too, didn't they?  I think even closer to Brian than Al Hitchcock.

Hitchcock also had a residence in Scotts Valley just north of Surf City Santa Cruz.

There was another great Brian vocal posted on one of the other threads. Brian is in great form at the moment, way better even than last year. Looks like they found the right medication now.

Why do you bring up his medication? Are you a doctor? Maybe he's just enjoying his life and career and the new situation he's in.

Does the average fan even know or care who Blondie Chaplin is? He guested on one song that's well-liked by hardcore fans, but wasn't a big hit for the band. I don't see it as any indication of bigger things for the Brian/Beach Boys divide, other than that Blondie is making a lot less money now that the Rolling Stones fired him (mostly likely because they wanted to give his part of the budget to rehiring Mick Taylor), so he could use the money right now. I'm glad he got the gig and while I'm sure it pays less, one hopes he'll be paid something. He's also a better singer than Brian for "Sail On."

Mac Arthur Park is one of those pop classics that probably couldn't get played on the radio anymore.  The instrumental sections in the song are fantastic, as is just about everything else on this masterpiece.

Excellent taste sir and I could not have said it better. I have always been a fan of this song.
