And that, my friends, is the very last post you will EVER see of this asshat. I don't care if somebody spams my PM box begging for his/her/it to be reinstated. It will NEVER happen. KittyKat is now at the bottom of the litter box and will never return.
Edit-
In case anyone asks, KittyKat's banning has nothing to do with being critical of Brian*; he/she/it has been asking for it for well over a year now (literally...I've never had anybody *dare* me to ban them before). It's one thing to have an opinion. It's another to actively try to start sh*t, like this feral freak has done pretty much since registration. This was more along the lines of a 'last straw' type of deal. I second this decision. Completely.

As we're constantly getting complaints from the both of you on the other(s)... may I ask the both "The Gruesome Twosome" and "The Anointed One" to please just stop hitting on each other. I can understand (to a certain degree) where you're coming from, why you don't like each other, and that you'll never be friends. But by now it doesn't matter who started, who's going too far, who's right and why you're right. It's plain irritating for the rest of us, and it's not solving anything. Unless both parties involved are aiming in getting the other out of this board. In that case I can say that if it comes to the point that someone really going too far a banning goes both ways (for insulting and provoking).
Yes, we might just need that "ignore"-button... but I don't have a clue either how to (re-)install this.

Love it. One of his bvs - along with Adios, MacArthur Park and Delirious Love
Agree… and add Hand on my Shoulder, Nature is the Law, Crabby Patty to that list! Ah yes, Hand On My Shoulder, from Anton Fig "Figments" album. With Blondie Chaplin lead vocal. Great song (and CD for that matter)

Brian doing the Pet Sounds show in Glasgow - his first concert appearance in the UK for many years. Barely reported in the UK press, if I remember correctly, because he hadn't played London yet and those were the shows the media were attending. Great night, but Smile in Newcastle was even better - though ignored by the shitty local press which only does culture if i's at the bottom of a can or has tits on it.
Ah, SMiLE Newcastle, March 6th 2004. Magical ! And probably my favorite show BW show I attended (although Pet Sounds Hamburg 2002 comses close, as it was my very first BW concert ever). Being a guest at JP and being present at the pre-SMiLE party in the Pet Sounds shop, talking with some of the band members there, hearing SMiLE life for the first time, sitting next to a fan who promised me an audio copy if I didn't clap too loud (we both kept our word ), it was all great. The setlist was a bit shorter compared with other ones as BW was a bit sick that day. I remember Jeff fosket getting a call and suddenly leaving the SMiLE party. And the guards at the Newcastle City Hall were a pain. A very tense atmosphere, especially afterwards. I was backstage waiting for a short talk and autograph from the man. But halfway the session, clearly still not feeling well, and combined with the 'bad vibrations', he suddenly decided to leave. Bit of a disappointment for me personally, but understandable in those circumstances. It still was a fantastic experience. Unbelievable this was almost 11 years ago. Time flies.

Really nice. I was there as well. I remember being so disappointed when Al stepped out on the European tour at the last moment. But having Billy Hinsche there instead was good enough for me. Can't remember you dancing up front though, guess I was paying all my attention to the music You were probably one of the first to enter the hall, as I remember the chairs not being numbered, so it was first come first serve. And I assume you bought Taylor's (at the time) new CD as well when you talked with her?

Get smile holland on it! I'm all over it, no worries about that. Not sure if it is an S.A. pressing though. Although the mentioning of "Palladium" could be a hint towards it. The cat.nr's in the run out grooves don't match though. Which isn't too surprising, as it's a totally different line up, and probably a different (mono) mix. The S.A. one was only released in stereo.

Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Thanks Joe....

As sad as the passing of Joe Cocker is (this is certainly a bad year when it comes to our musical heroes) I do think this topic does belong in the General Music Discussion forum. Yes, there is a link with a song co-written by a Beach Boy. But this particular news is more focussed on Joe's passing.
By the way, yesterday two topics on Joe's passing were started on this board, one on the main forum and one on the General Music section. Those were merged (and placed in the Gen.Music section).

To avoid copyright issues and issues surrounding posting or sharing copyrighted material that could potentially effect the board, please do not publicly post or re-post any links to recordings of the concert which was filmed in Vegas on this board. Thank you, everyone, for your cooperation and understanding.
Craig, are you at liberty to tell us a little more about this? I can't imagine that the board mods decided on their own to delete the previous links and request that no more links be posted. After all, YouTube is a legitimate site, owned by one of the largest corporations in the world, with millions of copyright holders happily monetizing, via YouTube ads, the appearance of videos containing their material. As I'm writing this the videos previously linked are still up, but if a removal request has been submitted it may have not yet taken effect. That's kind of odd... Was an issue made about this or is the board being (overly) cautious?
We were informed that a certain record company is giving YT movies from Brian's Vegas concert more than average attention at the moment, regarding copyrght infringements. Which is the reason why we don't want to take any risks right now. There wasn't any reason to warn about this prior to the concert as we only got word on this after the performance. So we understand it might come accross as a sudden and hurried decision. Call it 'overly cautious' if you will, but we'd rather do it this way than getting official warnings about it. When it comes to posting links to YT we usually don't make a problem of it. And one can question if even so much as posting a link (in this case) would harm this board. On the other hand we know this is one of those boards that is monitored on a regular basis. And by posting links, we actually make it an easier job for a record company (or for that matter anyone) to easily look up these movies and get them removed. I'm sure more movies will pop up on YT these next couple of days. So if you really want to see and hear Brian's new songs or parts of the gig in general, my advise would be to actively screen YT, and if they do surface, enjoy them while you can. Posting a link here will only get them removed even more quickly. Please believe us that we wouldn't do this if we didn't take these signs seriously.

Wait, there are TWO studio versions??? Where was it a single???
There never was a single. But if you remember the Brother discs topic of a while ago ( http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,17621.0.html), you might also remember that the tracklists mentioned "We Got Love (single release)". No clue what was the reason to mention this, as chances were low that it was ever considered.... but the length of the track - 5:50 - makes one wonder if there are different versions. The album version is much shorter. So I'm definitely buying this one. I'm very curious if this could be that "single" version.

I kinda wish that there had been a bonus version of Auld Lang Syne...one without Dennis' voice-over. Timely...if not cheesy...back in the mid 60s...I would appreciate a 'clean' version for programming purposes.
But there is a version without DW's voiceover. Released on Rarities, and later on as a bonustrack on a few BB Christmas Album reissues on CD, if I recall correctly. I'm sure it can be found on the Ultimate Christmas album from 1998.
