I saw Brian/Al in DC the night before. I don't know what it was but Brian seemed more up then he was at the show you went to. It was great seeing Al sing lead vocals on GREAT live performances, but I do admit noticing that he looked a little lost when he wasn't actively particpating. Which then turned into woefully obvious attempts at looking like he wasn't lost.
That was a great night in DC, wasn't it? The performances were outstanding I thought. My first time seeing Brian live and Al for that matter...what a treat.

Odd joke...since Capitol has ZERO to do with the POB/Bambu release it is a stretch. But anyway...I did get to hold in my hands an advance copy of the Sundazed three LP Blue vinyl POB/Bambu set and it is absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! Truly beautiful...and heavy. I suggest everyone order one, find one, get one...they are so damn cool.
This might be a dumb question, but how does the POB re-release vinyl sound compared to original POB vinyl? And does the vinyl POB/Bambu sound the same as the CD? I might be repeating myself somewhere...it's late haha Thanks!

What song are we talking about? For some reason I have thread topic as "\".
Sorry I dont know why it did that, but yes Let Him Run Wild No. Fourteen: Yeah I agree with you about his "punchy" style (punchiness? hah) LostArt: But doesnt Brian sing high during the whole song? Or do you mean just in the chorus? Nevertheless, its still a great song

As we know, Brian still doesn't care for his vocal on this song (the original, not the version on "Imagination"). Let's look at other voices who could have sung it if Brian didn't on the original recording. My vote would be for Al. I think his voice would fit perfectly for that song, listen to the backing track from Stack 'O Tracks and picture Al singing it. You would still have Brian on the high parts in the chorus, just have Alan sing the lead. Thoughts?

I recently recorded a tenor sax solo version of "Please Let Me Wonder" that I performed today. I didn't perform the song note-for-note as I turned it into a jazz/improv version. I play the main intro melody as well as the verse and chorus, then go into improv mode. It's just me on tenor sax. It's not much, I might do a new version later on like add a couple more instruments, but I liked what I had done so here it is! http://www.myspace.com/busydoinnothinThanks for listening! And crits/comments accepted! -Don't Back Down

Smiley Smile Stuff / 1970's Beach Boys Albums / Re: The Beach Boys In Concert

One of my top favorite Beach Boys albums EVER! We Got Love is really catchy (to me), REALLY great renditions of all the songs (I would prefer the standard version of Help Me Rhonda myself, but I guess it wouldnt fit the setlist). But MARCELLA blows me away everytime I listen to it on this one. I was humming the guitar solo in my head while I was out today and caught my self whistling it. Although I agree there should be some Denny tunes, it's still a great album "5" hands down.

I've been listeing to this album on rotation today and each time I listen I like it even more. Great vocal performances as well as great horns and the rest of the back up band. Favorites: Do It Again, Aren't You Glad & Wake The World. Love the muted trumpet section in Wake The World
Question on Wake The World: Is that Al singing Brian's high parts "when you're callin' me", etc.?
