I'd also mention That's Not Me... great track, primal drums

Pet Sounds box set informal run-through version, also. I'm Waiting For the Day has sublime subtleties.

I love the Box Set sessions of I'm Waiting For The Day where the instrumentalist makes a "mistake" and Brian just loves it and asks him to play it again (but he can't get it exactly like that again) and said "It was a great mistake, man" haha Love it!  Smiley

Crowd seemed to enjoy it, though it went by quickly. Harmonies from the band were really good from what I heard. Pretty sure I saw David Marks with them! It was a medley of California Girls/Kokomo/and Fun Fun Fun. Stamos tweeted about it & he's off to see Paul @ the Hollywood Bowl

Rocker: Sounds good man!

I'd like to do the front artwork if that's okay with you ESQ Editor since I've already started on designs.

Let's set a deadline on March 31st, 2010

It would be great if anyone would want to do some kind of artwork or had an idea for it.

I might be able to work up a cover. I can work out some designs this weekend/upcoming week.
It would be easier than doing a cover of a Beach Boys tune for me at the moment. I have so many other projects going on.

That would be great !
I hope we will do this again at some point and then you'll have time enough hopefully....

Okay man, I'm on it!
Thanks, I hope so too. I'm graduating college this May so I'll finally have time to work on something over the summer for whenever the next one is.

I've been working on some sketches tonight. How is this for a title:
Smiley Smiley dot net presents....God Only Knows What We'd Be Without Brian Wilson

Too cheesy, or does it work? I'm open to opinions Smiley

He played organ on Good Vibrations with Brian and his band at the Bridge School Benefit (I think?) it's shown in the Brian Wilson on Tour DVD

There's always next time, enjoy!

Somehow the other thread didn't bump up, but here is our first run through of Dennis' Under The Moonlight from Bambu.
Didn't get a good recording at our live debut, this is our first run through. We're performing it again tonight so I'll try and get a better concert version.
Our lead guitarist is singing lead.

And wow, it really sounds fantastic.

For those of you that only know CD's, what a wonderful world it was when we had warm, rich, vinyl to listen to.

Anyway, the album sounded great as always both through headphones and the speakers - nothing like being taken to another place while wearing headphones and getting hit with the:

"Ah-oooooooooom bop dit dit" of "This Whole World" - ah sweet ecstasy!

Long live The Beach Boys.

This Whole World fades out WAAAYYYY too early!!

Agreed!! I thought that ever since the first time I heard it. Best moment in the song, not that the rest of the song is bad, I love the song!! But that's definitely my favorite part!!

I too liked the fact they kept Michael in there.

Though I have to say I don't like it. Original is much better, imo. I enjoyed the Maroon 5 singer/Tony Bennett parts. I agree with you, Chris Brown, that Brian earns a solo line, thought about that while watching. I did find it funny Al digging the rap part. Auto-tune on Don't Fight The Sea would be pretty hilarious. I can hear it though haha

Well didn't get a good recording of our live debut, but here is our first run through of Dennis' Under the Moonlight. Our lead guitarist is singing the lead. Gets off a little toward the end (as you'll hear). We're performing it at our show again tonight, so I'll see if that recording goes better!

If Brian can put on a show akin to the two I saw in Glenside and Wilkes-Barre last year, I'd say that anyone going to see him will be in for a treat. Greatest hits setlist or not.

Seconded!! But West Virginia show for me, rather

115  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wouldn't It Be Nice - Seinfeld episode on: January 25, 2010, 05:43:05 PM
I know that in the episode where Kramer goes to L.A ("The Keys"), he roller skates there and "California Girls" is playing, the instrumental break right before the final chorus and you can definitely tell it's cover, or the musical
director arranged it for the episode. But I agree, that in "The Hamptons" it definitely is the original. @My Brother Woody: Possibly, but the DVDs are the original full episodes digitally remastered. But I supposed they could have
gone back in like you said. But in the DVD and re-runs I've always noticed its the original "Wouldn't It Be Nice".

I'm a huge Seinfeld buff....if you couldn't tell. ("So biff, wants to be a buff?" - Jerry to George)

One I've always though was better live is "Darlin'", though I do love the original as well.

Hey everyone! Just working on a song for the SS.Net Tribute Project. Not sure if this will be the song I choose, I'm having fun working on it.
Right now it's just the first half of "She's Goin' Bald" a capella. I would appreciate any comments and critiques. Thanks!

If I can get the time in this weekend/upcoming week I'll do my best & shoot for February if we are extending the deadline. School started this past week & I've been extremely busy.

Does anyone know of any good Beatles websites that focuses on their music? Meaning instruments used, the production of the music (George Martin, etc.), Beatles in the studio, etc.?

Thanks!  Smiley
