It's not a real live performance per say though, just Brian singing on top of the album track with the other guys miming.
I do remember hearing that an actual live '65 version with Brian was under consideration for release on MIC.
It's even Brian singing WITH his studio vocal - unless he doubletracks naturally... like he did in the 2012 videos! CONSPIRACY!! On a more serious note, it's Brian's inevitably angelic vocal I'd be most excited for in a truly live performance. And what exists here is a great example of that even in a botched form...

Went with Caroline No which was my choice pretty easily. I'm actually quite a big fan of Anna Lee the Healer, which I imagine won't get much attention among that list of songs.
I really like Anna Lee too, but I also chose Caroline No. A classic's a classic. I only want to hear the train sounds if I listen to the whole album though. It's a bit of a distraction on a playlist. In which case, the 45 edit is on both boxsets I have...

My god..... now people need a computer program to tell them which song they're listening to the most!!! This is whilst they walk along wearing those stupid, mongy big headphones and those horrible skin-tight yellow trousers, not looking where they're going because they're too busy prodding away on their "smart" phones with a slack jawed expression on their faces.
I wear big flappy flares and listen to albums all the way through[/b], and when I go out I only move for old people, disabled people, those with prams and / or heavy shopping. My thread trolling is also purely old skool. Wham, bam, and I'm off over to Youtube to spread some more grammatically correct hate.
I do the same - but if I have 5 mins before I leave I'm got gonna sit in silence for 5 mins am I?

Well, this isn't wholly accurate since I play vinyl mostly, so my digital collection is weighted by drumming songs, digital only tracks and TWGMTR [pre Vinyl release]. Hence why my list is dominated by TWGMTR at the top. I also tend to play albums rather than single tracks but regardless, here is the list: [because too lazy to type, have a monitor full] [Right click, view image/open image in new tab etc]

I have a copy of "Friends/20/20" which was bought when it was released in 1990 as well as the 2001 release. Now aside from the version of "Ol' Man River" being different on the two releases, I have also noticed (particularly on the "Friends" album) that there fade outs are slightly faster too. "Be Here In The Morning" and "Anna Lee, The Healer" have shorter fade outs when compared to the 2001 release. What I am wondering is, which is a true representation of how the album (Friends) sounded when it was released in 1968 with regard to the fade outs? Did it have the faster fade outs as heard on the 1990 release of the album or rather that of the 2001 release? Why would those involved change something like that in the first place?
Not having a vinyl copy to hand I can't guide you, but the version of friends I have on my PC always sounded akin to that copy... I think my Friends mp3 is 1990, sinc eit down't appear top be heavily compressed...
