It's cool they did both the standard release AND the live double release with 2 rehearsals as well. Shame I have no money Sad

Alan did you get the new mono vinyl "Christmas Album"? I have it but like the others I purchased I can't quite bring myself to open them yet! Cheesy
Hey Mike - no I haven't yet; I'm trying to be a good little lad and think of buying for others leading into xmas; and my ESQ sub is due after next edition.

Funny you ask as, I had it in my hot little lad hands today ($38 AU) but opted for a 1983 pressing of Who's Next instead.

And a MoFi of Trompe Le Monde by Pixies.

And then, later, the RSD vinyl edition of Muswell Hillbillies by The Kinks.

Doh!

There's an RSD of Muswell Hillbillies!?!

The new copyright laws have changed the length to 70 years in Europe. However, this only protects published material. Anything unpublished is only protected for 50 years, and will need to be released to be protected. Once released, it will remain under copyright for another 20 years.

Ah, so that puts the potential for a new release this year back in the potential light!
129  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 2014 Copyright Extension release? on: November 27, 2014, 04:51:42 AM
Yeah, to 70 years.  I wondering how it affects unreleased stuff.  I guess it's the same rules as for the released stuff, meaning we won't get anything.  In 20 years, though, it's gonna be cool.
In 20 years it'll get extended again... Assuming McCartney isn't dead yet
130  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / 2014 Copyright Extension release? on: November 26, 2014, 10:30:08 AM
After the great Big Beat 1963 last year, an excellent, if a little loud, collection of stuff in the vein of the Copyright Extension releases, I was wondering if there was any likelyhood of a similar release this year - the thread for Big Beat 1963 was created 11th December, so there's still hope.

And what might be included! Let the speculation commence!

Oh, and PLEASE release it in the UK this time...

I don't think links like that are allowed... are they? There was a reason I PM'd them... I might be wrong though.

I've always thought it sounds as if they're singing 'God's a lie'. They're not of course, which is a shame as it's true.

Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrn!
134  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wontcha Come Out Tonight on: November 22, 2014, 03:53:06 PM
This song makes me cringe and come close to throwing up every time I hear it. "I find myself a singin' this little song...." Please kill me if I have to ever hear that again.

To be fair, given' how indifferent I am to the LP, I can't remember how the song goes bar the intro... You have given me motivation not to find out... Thank You :D
135  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wontcha Come Out Tonight on: November 22, 2014, 03:16:29 PM
MIU is an LP I can play in an entirely flat manner. It doesn't disgust me. It doesn't delight me. And I haven't played it enough. It's just... there.

Except HAY LITTLE HAY LITTLE.

Yeah, waylaid 'cause your ass was banned!

Well what was I banned for then, hmmm? I assure you I was not.

MIKIE should be banned for a week, for creating this lie

I'm finding this humourous now.

Yeah I'd like to know what you were supposedly banned for too because I've never heard you slag anyone off or ask for bootlegs etc.  You're one of the respectful posters on here.

I am? That's news to me  Grin

The "CALIFORNIA FEEEEEEELIN'!" on the booted version is so flat. What they did really helped it in my opinion. The Bri vocal was maybe unneccessary

It turns out my recordings of this are sat on my other Hard Drive... I wonder if I uploaded it for anyone...

Is this the programme that aired before and after the Beach Boys concert in 2012 they broadcasted?

It aired after the concert, and then the 2nd part was the following week.

I don't even understand why It's A Beautiful Day was Remixed?

I've been missed? I just got a little waylaid and haven't been online for a while. I'm making an effort to be back now!
147  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Summer in Paradise re-recorded UK versions vs. US versions on: November 21, 2014, 11:42:16 AM
Owning both CDs [my beautiful pair of bargains I paid less than £20 for - in total], I always take the UK CD in my car. The US mixes seem strange to me now...

Oooh, Camden. Which shop?

Original black vinyl Kenny and The Cadets 45 if someone has the $$; it has one bid so far, $325, but you get free shipping...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/INCREDIBLE-CONDITION-AND-VERY-RARE-Kenny-and-the-Cadets-Brian-Wilson-and-45-/231395707894

And you'd be buying it from a guy in an alley storage locker, too.

That description blew my mind... Ouch.
150  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: So...What is your favorite MIC track? on: November 21, 2014, 11:25:02 AM
MiC is one of those sets I rarely come back to, but when I do I do enjoy it. The futzing on some tracks [YLTLF being disastrous, and the melodyne on Sherry being pure evil] is unforgivable, but it works perfectly on tracks like Where Is She? and California Feelin'. Wild Honey live is certainly good, but again, the futzing with the echo!.
