There's a danish cartoon/comic book character ("kristers Oplevelser" = Krister's adventures) who talks exclusively in palindromes. Like here, where we have Krister commenting on the american presidential campaign IN ENGLISH palindromic paragraph (hoping this'll work or perhaps jk can help out): www.kristersoplevelser.dk/bulk/imgpages/076_01.jpg.html>NOT/NIL, CLINTON !< [By jk] It works, R. Did I write that Clinton one?? Interesting...! And now: When you decide to take just <southern> and <northern> from the lyrics of "California Girls" to construct a palindrome (which ended up starring Ian Rusten!) and find yourself stuck with the unworkable combination <TUOS>, it's amazing what a desperate mind will come up with... Fresno's up at southern air, Marat. Author Ian R., eh? Trondheim, i.e., HD. Northern air: oh tuatara! Mr Ian R., eh? T.U.O.S. (tap us on, serf).

Dean Martin "That's Amore". The local staish played it today as 50s pick (for 60s was Dusty Springfield "Wishin' & Hopin'" etc). Quickly recognize as the 3 mice sang it in movie "Babe: pig in the city". I liked it then. Dean's voice is better though. No idea what "amore" is, might be some Italian food, as there's ref. to "pizza" & "pasta" in the lyrics.
Amore is the Italian word for love. "In Napoli where love is king When boy meets girl here's what they say" Of course Dino may be confessing his love of pasta----can't say I blame him...

I see the first 5 volumes of the Knausgard available. Is that series worth looking into? Trying to expand my horizons by reading more International writers. My wife and daughter-in-law are major fans (they read it in Dutch and even got a volume signed by the man himself). I'm told it's a sensational read----Nobel Prize material...

Easily one of their top 10 albums, not a dull moment to be found, even OFRS is kinda fun!
And it segues nicely into "Don't Back Down"----Brian's forgotten note is the first one in that song (probably said that before)...

Like I predicted, we had some celebration of Good Vibrations at the Beach Boys convention in London. Together we watched the silent movie of Brian's GV production, brought in by the brilliant special guest: Alan Boyd! And what a thrill it was to see Brian in total command of the studio situation with the Boys and 'The Clique'/Wrecking Crew - even without sound. This great & historic live footage was filmed like this by an unknown hero, called BOB(?) Al on his box, Dennis fooling around much like Lennon did! And at one point Brian wears a vest/waistcoat similar to Spector's! Sidebar re: our SMiLEY-pal Theydon Bois. I wondered about his name; french or what? Then on my way to Greenford, I discovered that there's a London Tube-station also called "Theydon Bois"!? And tomorrow, monday it's the 10/10 2016: the big jubilee date!!! POST & CELEBRATE, please ...
Thanks for the info, R. Sounds like it was quite a bash. Yes, that station. It's pronounced "Thayd'n Boys"! I'm still trying to ascertain the exact date when they premiered "Good Vibrations" on the radio in the UK in October '66. That's when I first heard it (it was in the evening) and I must have made a note of it but unfortunately I don't have my diary for that year any more...

hello, everyone.
Hi, M. May you and the captain continue to open musical doors of all shapes and sizes. :=) Wait, what? What have I got to do with Bubs & Undie's drunk thread? Open musical doors, eh? Listening to Solange's new one a the moment. A Seat at the Table. Unless you meant literally musical doors. Perhaps little cymbals or bells hung on strings! My uncle and aunt had a beads-on-string kind of door in their house when I was but a lad. I'm guessing it was a '70s thing. (If I remember it, it was probably the early '80s, but nobody ever accused them of being with the times.) Not "Undie"----please! Not here, anyway. Cap'n, you and Mari have pointed me towards lots of interesting new (and not so new) music, both here and across the road. That's all I was saying, in my usual convoluted way. Big fuss about A Seat at the Table in the Netherlands too. The Knowles sisters have largely passed me by----my loss, no doubt...

The OP says very clearly to post songs with "sun" in the title & the lyrics. That song you posted doesn't suit. The question is - why it's posted here in the 1st place? I'm sure by now you read the rules, didn't you? I shan't count it.
I don't want it counted anyway. In fact, don't you dare count it! Actually, mine isn't the only post here devoted to "sunshine pop". Whatever the topic description, the topic title is ambiguous. I'm sure donald won't mind. I've got my hard hat on just in case he does. And here's some more sunshine pop----so there! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaijUQeLcfQ

Hi SCZ. Good idea for a first topic!
The album that gave me the most trouble to start with but has since become a favourite is Love You. Friends and So Tough are similar cases in point, thanks to SWD's study video and an "alternate" version, respectively. All three "conversions" are thanks to this forum!
The one you're listening to now is another matter entirely. I don't think I'll ever wholly come to terms with 15 Big Ones----bits and pieces, yes, but not all of it...

Well, you know... palindromes more or less write themselves in the end. But yes----why not?! Like this one? Cent, you know me by now - always running with your great ideas (and john's too). Can't help myself. To me, your palindrome sounds like the full PS-ending with old man Murry (Reggie D/Gage) tampering with the speed of Caroline No. How dared he?!:
>Dog, "Banana" made PS on tape! REG'ger-EP at no: sped a man?? An * ab GOD !!<
Or why not make it a tanka- aka waka-palindrome, the 3 of us together? Like so [by CenturyDeprived/john k (4th line)/rasmus skotte:]
>Dog "Banana" 'made' PS-tape! NO, Caroline No: a Gage gaga - one-nil OR a con-EP at sped-a-man? An 'ab God!'<
That's the spirit, R. :=) Here's my first attempt at a shorter GV palindrome: Si, erase----yes, no? I tar bivalve. Remit emo's didgeridoo good. I, Reg, did sometime rev LA vibrations. Eyes are I's

GV-triplet with a BIG nod to "CLEM" (actually being Carl Wilson - but if it WAS Mike Love, it'd work out just as well): Clem might be Clem Cattini, who played drums with The Tornados and then did session work for hundreds of artists. The Tornados' "Telstar" (a pocket symphony of sorts) would tie in with rocket science. And Do-Mi almost rhymes with Joe Meek, who produced the song... As for GV in a palindrome, this one includes it but a shorter one would be more satisfying. I'll see what I can do... This is my desperate attempt (including some of the usual suspects) to palindromically incorporate the titles and BB co-authors of two books that are all over this forum. It does fall apart near the end (where it reads like a Babelfish translation, largely thanks to the major problem of reversing Wilson) but the final sentence puts everything back into wonderful perspective. Enjoy! "Emma, I'd Etna Wilson," I blabbed. "O ogre, have a Danko oblate ponder reef! I (Lyme Regis) rip/rev L.A. vibrations. Yo, Brian! O bedlam... Ron, tame vole! Kim, add A, edit B! Beach, CA, ebb tide: add a Mike Love mat, normal debonair boys. No, I tar bivalve R. Pirsig, ere my life err. Ed, no petal book----nada! Eva her good ebb albinos Li wanted. I am me."
