Yeah...the first time I heard it on Pet Sounds...I was like..."my..this is off..."

Is there any song that you prefer the single track vocal mixes on Unsurpassed Masters set?  Ie, all the Vocal 1A mixes where they haven't double  yet?
For some reason I prefer "You STill Believe in me" with Brian on one track.  That's how I started listening to it (stereo version, the additional vocal track was lost for the stereo version), VS mono version where he's doubled.
I also prefer In the Back of My Mind one track vocal for Dennis.  Am I crazy?  Smiley

If this is the same take as the "Cocaine Session", there's part where he freaks the f*ck out and says something like, "I JUST CAME UP WITH THAT, JUST NOW!" and is obviously pretty impressed with himself.

I've never heard that take where he says that.....where can it be found?
I hear a lot of really good beginnings of songs on this tape - shame not a damn thing made it past that point, it seems.

In Brian Wilson I Feel so Fine on the Hamburger Sessions, does anyone know if it was a cover, or something he wrote?  It kinda sounds like a doo wop song to me.
Any insight would be great!!!!!  Thanks Smiley

Interesting.
I love those songs, but they do nothing for me.
It's the emotional high vocals. they hit me.
Oh, I see.  Smiley

I was just wondering if you had any Beach Boys or solo songs (meaning Carl, Dennis, or Brian), that made you cry?
Mine is "Baby blue" by Dennis.
The demo when those slightly off key flutes come in or whatever they are makes me start to lose it.

I suppose it's stupid on the surface, I don't know.
I'm not so sure it's the song, just the instrumental break that allows me to think of stuff with a wide open mind leaves me open to any emotion there is.  You know what I mean?
Anyway, I'm rambling.  It's your turn.

Thanks for the clarification.  I'd like to hear the whole thing if anyone......
I heard a 3 minute snippet on Youtube the other day but obviously that wasn't the whole thing.

I know about the one on Vigotone Smile....but is 25 minutes the whole thing, or is there a complete version?  Cause I read somewhere that this was some type of dinner party Brian had at his house....anyone care to fill me in on how it came to be, dates, if known?  Never heard the Vigotone one accept for like a 3 minute thing.  25 minutes seams a little short, but that could just be me.  Thanks for any replies.....I'd REALLY REALLY like to hear it........  ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Edit: So it's longer than 25 minutes?  Tapping silverware?  Now I really really really wanna hear it!!  You got my curiosity.
11  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / In My Room Demo on: August 03, 2011, 03:52:14 PM
OK.....so....I was just listening to In My Room, the demo on Good Vibes 30 years of.  Does anyone know how far back from the released version that was recorded?  Or was it on the same day?  And does anyone agree with me that that sounds like Brian by himself the whole way through just ODing his voice?

Hi
First, I've been a lurker for about a year now.
I've been into The Beach Boys for as long as I can remember.
Well, mostly Brian.  I can't stand Mike.  Maybe it's an unhealthy obsession with Brian, I dunno.
Anyway, I keep reading about this "Brian Talks with and About Spring.", sometime in 1971, Yes, I've done my homework.
Anyway, I've heard that there's a lot of flirting going on between him and Diane, since Marilyn had gone to bed since it was like 3 in the morning.
I've never heard this tape, but I really want to.
PM's, and emails sometimes do wonders.....Smiley
