I was listening to the live version of "Hushabye" on the Good Vibrations set and I was wondering who sings the first solo part before Brian begins singing?  I thought it may have been Dennis, the way the screaming seemed to go into overdrive.  I was just wondering if anyone could answer this for me.  Thanks!

Yeah I heard there was a slight production delay, should be showing up any day now, or in a week. I've been through this book publishing/release thing five times now...and its always really vague in the days leading to the actual physical release. Just when you think its going to be delayed for awhile, the book will suddenly show up. So my instinct is that we'll see it ...oh crap i really don't know...but soon.

I ordered mine and can't wait to get it!  Am hoping that it will get here soon!

I can't stop listening to Dennis very quiet but deeply emotional live take on The Beatles/Lennon's "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" from Ann Arbor concert 1966. I prefer this softer version. It shows the emotional depth of Dennis vocal. I love the way he hums the George Martin string/instrumental coda at the end of the song. It's as if he's connecting totally to the song.

Anyone else heard this version?

O.K., so I go to Getty Images to find some Beach Boys photos, found some great ones, and noticed that the first few pages are not only more recent pictures, but many contain John Stamos.  I realize he performs with them, but I still cannot reconcile myself to the fact that he is considered a Beach Boy.  I guess I am just an old fogie and cannot get with the times.  Sorry for the rant, just had to get that off of my chest. 

I would love to hear that version.  How do you get it?

I wish someone from one of the families could get it.  I hate seeing something like that go on sale on ebay.   It's like going into antique stores and finding family pictures and other artifacts on sale.

I loved this book.  I also enjoyed the documentary.  I wanted to cry by the end of the book.  I just wished he would have gotten help.  Such a tragic end to a talented and beautiful man.

I just ordered that book from a seller on Amazon.  Looking forward to reading it.  Just finished Stebbins' Dennis Wilson book, Heroes and Villains, and the Brian Wilson bio.  Catch a Wave.  Sort of on a Beach Boys streak here. 

Happy Memoria Day!  I am new to the board, obviously, but have been a Beach Boys fan for several years.  I was always a fan, even saw them live once in 1996.  But here recently I have really been listening to more than just their greatest hits.  I have to say that I was really impressed to say the least.  Their voices and music are so exquisite.  I am even in awe of Dennis' music.  Good looks and talent what a combination that was!  This is coming from someone who is a die hard Stones fan.  Have to say though, that the Beach Boys have definitely won me over and the Stones are just going to have to share me with them.  Anyway just wanted to say, "Hi" and how much I enjoy this board.  Take care everyone and God bless.
