Surfs up 67' done in a lower key and complete with that weird wild honey piano.

Is it in a lower key or a lower octave? Sounds like the same key to me.

The whole song is in a different key up until 2.30 where it goes back into the same key as the 66' version.

Surfs up 67' done in a lower key and complete with that weird wild honey piano. Still prefer the 66 version. BTW the Smile backing vocals montage sounds great ,however some of the vocals seem to phase when ! listen to them as if they have been "Touched up" IE auto tune ,,hmmmm.
Say it isn't so messyrs Boyd and Linnett!!

Quote  "the five discs of this outtakes-and-all edition take the (let's be honest) rather meagre delights of Brian Wilson's unfinished "masterwork" and wring the life out of them."

I'd like to wring that reviewers neck!!

Not everybody wants 20 different versions of Heroes and Villains..

We gotta live with that, hard as it may be  LOL
We smiley smilers should protest outside rolling stone for saying that statement LOL

"Occupy Rolling Stone"  LOL

I don't get it, I just read the review and it's very flattering, it ends with "the greatest pop album ever made is in there somewhere", yet they gave it 4 and a half..

I really don't know

They gave it 4 1/2 stars because SMilE was never properly finished . I totally get it.

I love it when the criticism is that the rest of the tracks aren't as good as Heroes, Good Vibes, Surf's Up, Cabin, Wonderful, etc... That's like docking Revolver because the rest of the tracks aren't as good as Tomorrow Never Knows and Here There and Everywhere, etc or giving Sgt Pepper a hard time for having some tracks not up to the standard of A Day in the Life, and, well, A Day in the Life. You know what I mean?

I agree. Sure, not everything on Smile is equally brilliant. But then again, are Fixing a Hole, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite, Within You Without You, When I'm Sixty-Four, Lovely Rita and Good Morning Good Morning really that great?

Not to derail the thread, but Fixing a Hole rocks my world, actually. Very Brian influenced, that one.

Yes you can clearly hear Brians influence of the bass line on Fixing a hole.

Thanks hypehat!

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with the mixing - Idk, There were way too many tracks to adjust - and since it was just a cover, I didn't bother with mixing much. But other than that I was happy that I got some of the harmonies right haha
Great job Rab! Did u play all the backing track as well? If you did ,kudos to you mate!

My cover of Cool Cool Water.Sorry about the bad quality the audio sounds quite muffled.
Hopefully for my next recording I'll have a new/better quality microphone.

What name?

When you click on the door, it says "The Beach Boys SMiLE Shop" on the next page  Smiley

By the way, here's the creepy pic I mentioned before:

What is so creepy about it? His eyes look pretty red though... Smokin
I think it's that one-day's-growth mustache.

I never knew Brian had so many freckles.
Nice pic,not creepy at all.

Brian has a new site:
http://brianwilson.com/

Check out the name  Shocked

So I guess this would be as good of place to ask as any:

Has it ever been determined what exactly they sold at the SMiLE shop?  I always thought it was smiles, smirks and grins but I could be wrong?  Dentures maybe?  Grin

Btw: I love the flash intro but would you buy anything from those two conspicuous individuals (who have seemed to have aged very well despite the delayed grand opening) behind the counter?  They look like they could have less than honorable intentions.

Lysergic acid diethylamide would've been a popular product in the SMiLE shop IN 67' 3D 3D Cool Guy

http://www.blowitoutahere.com/the-beach-boys-smile-sessions/5099902765822

I think you are about a month late, tracks were revealed early September I believe.

Uh, Mr McGuire, the operative word there was HIDDEN. The info concerning those tracks is new...!

Oh I must have been dreaming when I read this track-listing in September which has EXACTLY the same information on tracks as the link you posted.

Hey, does anyone in the know, know when there'll be another teaser track  on the Faecesbook page? 19 days is a long time.

One week is a long time. One month is a long time. One year is a long time. God damn, time takes it's damn time.
Yes and I'm going overseas on the 2nd November for a holiday for two weeks.I don't think I've ever been disapointed to be going "On a Holiday"  till now! Roll Eyes
69  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: When Brian Wilson met John Lennon on: October 07, 2011, 05:10:56 PM
People talk about Brian being mentally ill. I wonder if he was mentally ill before taking drugs. I know Dennis took a lot of drugs but always seemed mentally stable. But I think the drugs can have awful effects on some like Brian, Syd Barret, Rocky Erickson, etc. Brian seemed very stable before 1967. Outside of a nervous brake down, he seemed mentally strong. And he had good and bad days until the 80s. But now he doesn't ever seem to be completely there.

Our bodies are made of chemistry and taking certain mind altering substances can have a profound long term effect on that chemistry on some individuals. I think Brian ,Syd Barret etc were a couple examples of that.I remember in an interview hearing Brian talk about the LSD shattering his mind and I often wonder what could have been for Brian had he avoided the drugs.

It's annoying as hell for everyone, but a lot of hackers are just interested in showing off security flaws.

You'd figure an e-mail would cover it.
[/quote

Yes and depriving various websites from operating their businesses just to make a point is downright reprehensible, regardless of their intentions to show off security floors.
Interpol are you listening? police police

They aren't exactly anonymous , the person/persons refer to themselves as TiGER-M@TE and are well know around the world and even brag about their exploits on various websites.. Forget about Julian Assange, the sooner this person is tracked down and prosecuted the better.

I feel old asking this (I'm only 25), but is there any kind of purpose behind this sort of thing? Is this d00d fighting for something or just being a prick for the sake of being a prick?
I'm sure he has some king of gripe or agenda and I  wouldn't think he'd be doing it for fun,but then again who knows!
Some people have way too much time on there hands
