Amazing, If I had a "real" band, it'd be me, you, and egon. The Not-So-Beach Boys! seriously Dave, I could listen to your stuff all day long. you sound JUST like Brian, especially on the "hey hey hey"s. Actually I would love to collaborate with you guys ,however work commitments family and different time zones make it nigh on impossible for me.

I've listened to it closely, and I think it goes like this:
Mike:I'm gonna be around my vegetables, I'm gonna chow down my vegetables
Brian: I like you most of all
Mike: My favorite vegetables
Nope - verses are Mike, rest is Brian. As someone who has studied and dissected Brian's vocals( Painstakingly sometimes .i might add! )i'm 98% sure its Brian singing- I like you most of all -then goes back To Mike singing -My Favorite Vegetable. Make that 100%. Even Andrew is convinced now.

Lol, it's ridiculous to say Wild Honey doesn't have a psychedelic influence, or even psychedelic elements in it. Anyone with a pair of ears and can hear that.
Then you never really listened to 50s R'n'B, etc., did you ? The only psychedeic thing about Wild Honey is Bruce's organ solo and even that could be discussed. Influence is another prospect but musicalley there's (almost) nothing psychedelic in the whole album The only psychedelic thing about wild honey is -Let The Wind Blow- which I could imagine being played down at Haight Ashbury.

I know I'm going rub people up the wrong way on this but whilst I really like Wild Honey, I dislike the title track. Carl vocals are scratchy and are grating to the ears. Its hard to believe it's the same Carl that sang God Only Knows or even Cabinessence.

Everytime I hear this song, you know what I think about?
"You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)"
Am I alone?
No you aren't alone, both songs are made up of several different sections/modular recordings. The songs sound very different to each other but are similar in the way they were recorded.

Jeesh you sound just like Brian! That a cappella coda was brilliantly done.
You should sing the vocals for 'Do You Like Worms' on the vintage '66 track!
Thanks Rab , I might make DYLW my next one! By the way I just picked up my Box today from the courier after missing delivery yesterday. Now I'm in rapture!!

I thought a SMiLE track would be appropriate with the box set coming out so I've done a cover of Wind Chimes using an original BB's backing track with me on all vocals. Hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soeBGNqxUO8Amazing as always, Dave! I wish this board got more traffic--you and the other folks on here are incredibly talented and fun to listen to, but it seems like it's only the same 10 people who check the music out. Anyhow, I'm excited to hear your next one! Much appreciated.

On another thread someone pointed out on Cabinessence there is a bit of noise at 1.01 and that it wasn't good enough for Boyd and Linett to let some thing like that get on the box set. While there IS a bit of static that is BARELY audible ,If someone hadn't have mentioned it I would never have noticed it. Pedantic beyond comprehension!
