Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Tom Hanks

BAD show in mpls...Mn. Zoo.
Not since the voice of Tom Hanks called out for Wilson has the night air been broken with such a heart-felt emotion. Minne sometimes wants to claim Brian as a native son; his mother after all was born in this state. W-I-L-S-O-N W-I-L-S-O-N thru two lengthy standing ovations, after god only knows was finished. Mr. Jardine had to say he felt emotional as he turned toward Brian and said “You deserve this –so fantastic!”
It was not a perfect eve in Minne, a light rain fell several times during the first set. You could see it dance on the small lake with each of Brian’s songs. Not that far away Minnehaha Falls echoed thru the night air, almost daring you to picture Longfellow’s young Indian maiden Hiawatha setting back and listening to Brian’s voice on Heroes and Villain’s.
On the ride home we passed Mary Tyler Moore’s statue tossing her tam into the air in a scene of celebration. Ole Mary must of enjoyed the magic eve as much as the rest of us. The Hiawatha transit train rolled past, soon to be out of sight. At this point, I realize at some time we all need some of Brian’s music in our lives. Wishing you all this kind of night.

I raced to my Pepper (CD) same thing..after the lyric SMILE the cd goes blank!!! Oh! Brian what a cleaver trick you have spun all these years later.

Greg...you always wanted me to join this board...only doing it for you! I started Greg on the Beach Boy adventure years ago in Minnesota. Greg always a thinker, planner yet unpredictable... I enjoyed making him smile. Greg called to tell me I missed the boat for good seats at a show. Early on during the concert Greg spotted me in a wheel chair right up on the main stage. I'm not saying this was the right thing to do, but it brought a smile to his face. You've got some Dennis in you he'd say. Thank's for the music we shared and some of the stuff of mine he'd share with you. Thanks for returning back to Minnie for some of Brian's concert's. Greg you are a true fan and friend for so many years.
