6. Lost Tones/Tune X vocals - This was brought forth by another member from this forum... He alleges there were vocal sessions for this song... I would like more insight on this topic, if possible. Could anyone confirm this claim?
I'm gonna veer this off-topic for a second. A guy recorded a phenomenal mash-up of Tune-X and Little Pad back in 2000. The lyrics/melody of Little Pad fit perfectly over Tune-X. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHAf8zavRG8If the Beach Boys recorded something remotely similar to this I would have to change my list of top 10 favorite Beach Boys songs to include such a track. I just was able to listen to this! FANTASTIC, thanks for sharing! Great!

I'm after a few dif SMiLE Fan mixes but alittle unsure whats the gen vibe these days (I looped out of SMiLE fan mixes a year ago after finding some great mixes so stayed with these) Sooo, By general concensus, whats been the best fans mix of SMiLE.... 1. IN STEREO 2. In MONO & percieved as most similiar to what B.Wilson was 'probably' going to do at the time 3. The Most 'Complete' sounding (albeit with fly-ins) & best mixed 4. The Most 'out there psyecedlic dynamic' SMiLE - (as long as the mixings hi fidelty, im all in for the most trippy thing done so far ) Many many thanks for your help, and also all the SMiLE mixes everyone's spent ages working on for us all to listen and enjoy.

Hi Ron
Thanks for your post, glad you like our stuff!
Yeah i see what your saying on Sure Enough, but was looking symphonic/orchestral cumulative thing on this one so was more like a comfy blanket that wrapped around the lead vocal. defo fair points and well considered.
we're in the home straight of finishing off an album, everythings been done by ourselves and on the fly here there and everywhere, we've managed to squeeze in places like bedrooms, big concrete cellars, stairways, right upto some amazing places like the London Colluseum (while the ballet dancers warmed up) to sneak some harmonium in! Just used natural and spring reverbs, valve amps, real instruments, all natural. Looking/Hoping to get the album released/picked up.
its taken a while but considering its self financed, we're typical struggling musicians workin crappy jobs to make ends meet its been great to get this to where we're at.
more to come!

I liked it. I enjoyed the stereo spread and the very "living room" sound, and the melody arch of the song. I'll have to seek out a studio version - if there is one. By the way...there's a "Smiley Smilers Who Make Their Own Music" subforum for this, you should post there. Which Red Sail are you? Aaah sorrybout that, excitement getting the better of me. thanks will do

It's a good boot for someone unfamiliar or listening to Smile for the first time, no doubt, but I'm not so sure about posting links to unauthorized recordings. Might even be a rule about it on the board.
oops sorry about that, i just did a quick image search for 'odeon smile' on google and patched in the link, didnt realise it had the download link for the music too. doh!

I bought the Red SMiLE Odeon CD years ago, it's great, has 30 tracks on it, of which one is titled "The Heroes And Villains Suite (A Musical Comedy) (Stereo / Mono Alternative)" and is 10:04 long. well worth checking the Odeon CD out the fronts all in red, and the back can be found "on various websites when searching in google images for example"

does anyone know why it was never used, or completed?
its such a shame - this piece of music is perhaps one of my top 5 beach boys pieces of music of all time To find this tagged onto the end of the twofer as a fesh BB fan way way back was an astounding find
This twofer has perhaps the best bonus tracks released together
magic piece of modular music!!!
