26  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: The Right to Keep and Bear Arms: The Gun Thread on: December 03, 2015, 06:09:47 PM
No way, just congratulating them on their stance. 355 mass shootings this year, well done! Its a sarcastic nod to the gun totting, Americana that is a myth. The land of the free.
18th of May - the FBI has not ruled out terrorism.  This appears to have the indicia of the Bataclan attack, orchestrated similarly.  This is not about the 2nd amendment.  They used "long guns" the new rhetoric, no mention of Kalashnikovs, and found IED's (pipe bombs.)

Cities in the US have attacks from pressure cookers made by those who got hundreds of thousands of tax dollars for free college tuition and apartments, because they were refugees. These shooters used assault rifles.  That is not the 2nd amendment.

The outlaws have the guns and "soft targets" now need to be armed.  Schools, churches, malls, sporting centers.  It is the new normal.

God Bless America.

Wow yeah cool stuff, more guns to stop the guns! f***ed up logic 101.

I take it you hold a graduate degree in said Logic?
NOT preparing yourself and NOT protecting yourself, sounds like a graduate-level course to me.

Nope... "selective editing."  Nothing to see here.   LOL

You're never going to convince a Leftist that this is nothing more than a right wing witch hunt.  It's like this... (let me just put my Leftist hood on... it's been awhile... so this might be a little rough...)
That goes both ways easily enough.

Everything goes both ways if you're a Moral Equivalenc-ist.

My responses regarding legality are specific to FdP's assertions and are more to do with what I consider to be an essentially dishonest (though I don't think intentionally so) form of rhetoric. They are not to do generally with the ethics of abortion. Or even the practices of PP.

I see.

This is all a big witch hunt by evil, racist, white men, who hate minorities and gays -- and they hate women especially.  Did I mention they're white?  Well, they are.  They're white.  And they're **gasp** men too!!!!  White males.  Yuky.

Republicans, understand, hate women more than anything, becuz, they want to keep women perpetually pregnant with incestuously conceived children, so they can take over the world.  They don't really care about children, you see... becuz if they did, they would welcome undocumented refugees from war-torn areas, during a war, with a President who properly understands we're not in a war.  Besides, the real concern -- THE ONLY CONCERN -- is Climate Change.  Climate.  Change.

Babies.  Ppppppttt.   Razz   The climate is gonna kill everybody!!! AAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhh!!!  Ahhh!

(...leftist hood off).

Name one illegal thing that this video provides evidence for...

Who cares if it's legal or illegal Emily?  If the whole thing is just as bogus as you pretend I mean, say it is... and it's nothing more than bad PR -- then you're good.  You'll survive.  And babies won't.  They will continue to be harvested for their arms and brains -- and the Democrats will continue to benefit from it -- so, why do you cares!?  The babies surely aren't complaining... cuz they're too stupid to unionize or they're already dead and on their way to the Left-wing processing plant.

Emily.  Listen to me.  It's not tuff.  You're either offended by this stuff....       or...      you're a Leftist.
29  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Planned Parenthood exposed -- CAUTION on: December 03, 2015, 10:30:06 AM
The only time you right wingers care about children is when they're in the womb.

D'oh!  You made a boo-boo.
30  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Paris on: December 02, 2015, 07:45:41 PM
Given the evidence that crackdowns and reprisals generate further radicalism, why would you support further crackdowns and reprisals?

Evidence suggests that killing the rats eliminates rats.  Taking a bath eliminates odors.  This isn't revolutionary thinking.  Use your talents better.

Increasing population is good.  Babies are good.

I love how the left is ready for action when one of their baby slaughter-houses and body-part harvesting factories are attacked... but when kids are mowed down in a French nightclub, or on the street enjoying the nightlife, or in their mother's womb clinging to life -- nah.  "Let's not over-react."

Funny liberals.

Gums I sincerely miss: orange Bubbilicious.

33  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: The Right To Keeep and chew gum: The Gum Thread on: November 24, 2015, 08:40:11 PM
Yes, but one must dispose of it properly!

As in, do not toss finished articles into the parking lot.  Keep the wrapper, so when done, place gum in wrapper and dispose of in a nearby waste receptacle.

We're all in this together...

I do not care about the liner notes or price. Tell me if this record is any darn good.

Yeeaaaah it is !!!!

I've sat and listened to the whole thing (almost finished with the second disc).  This will make you retire the Party! album forever.  This is the document of these sessions.  They're loose, goofy, but more interesting than the release, since it focuses on documenting the Boys in the studio cutting this fun little album.  And it was always THE WAY they cut the album that was more interesting than the actual album.  Although, it's contents are indeed fun and pretty at times.

What I'm noticing and loving is just how off-the-cuff it is.  Brian's just like "whatever" and chimes in only once in awhile, saying things like "don't worry about it!  it's f$%^g a party... mistakes are fine.  Relax!"  But what is really interesting is how much Carl Wilson runs the show.  (At least I think it's Carl -- I'm pretty sure I know their voices like my own family's!)  But it's a great study on the band and their personalities.

I don't know if that's a revelation to our more scholarly board members, but it is to me.  It's 1965... and Carl Wilson is the project manager on the scene.  He's producing the album.  Brian's the architect sitting back with the vision... but it's Carl's gig.  He's setting the pace, and totally comfortable telling everybody what to do.  Fun stuff!!

I don't have the SOT of this... so I don't know if this would be necessary to folks who do, though I find the sound sublime!  But I'm loving this release.

Playing mine right now!  Sounds really good!!!

What a wonderful surprise this is turning out to be.

Good posts guys.  Fun stuff, on an absolutely sh-ty topic, but it's good to have fun when exercising our brain muscles.  Otherwise, it's just useless work.

You know, glad the Paris "mastermind" is toast.  But, what a wasted life.  I'm seeing these dudes as real f-cked up kids -- in our lingo.  We in the civilized world, got used to pickin' up a pack of smokes and buying some cool music to check out.  These weirdos, living in a sh-ty desert, get to pick up their version of the bible -- I think it's called the Cooran?  Anyway... and they get all weird on that.

it's gonna kill'em.  But our parents said the same thing about cigarettes.  Only, this sh-t is a fcking nightmare for everyone else.

Let's be thankful over the holidays and never forget the kids who were at that rock concert, trying to cut loose and have fun.  Love your family, kids, parents and all the rest -- give them lots of love while we're all still together.

We're doing it right.  And we'll get through this sh-t together.

The Mamas and Papas came back together to record one last lp...with John, Michelle, Denny and Cass...  'People Like Us' was done in 1971 I believe.  Pretty decent album actually.  I had it back then.  I got it again on CD from Amazon about a year ago.
My favorite Ms&Ps records. Great LP.

38  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Did The Association fill the void left by The Beach Boys from 1967-68? on: November 19, 2015, 04:49:10 PM
Sort of/kinda.  I am a big Association fan.  After Cherish and Along Comes Mary...they slowly began to gather momentum...but their slick sound became passe.  Too bad.  Next to the Boys...these guys had great albums.  I also very much enjoyed the Turtles progressions...'til they saw the writing on the wall.  I'll never forget them BLOWING Iron Butterfly off the stage in Toronto...Massey Hall,  IB with Inagadadavida.  The Turtles with the whole Battle of the Band lp at their disposal.  It was no contest.  Howard, Mark, Jim, Al and Johnny Barbata on drums ate IB for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The Mamas and Papas were limited.  Too much in the way of extra-curricular daliances.  There was no way they were ever gonna last...no matter how much Ed Sullivan saw them as wholesome.  And they only had 1 creative source who was pretty much a one-trick pony.

The Beach Boys made there own void.  It was "deep and wide" and great lps after Smiley Smile were never going to make up for Smiley Smile.  THAT album could not be retracted and the Beach Boys were done as far as the record buying public was concerned.  In a sense...they pretty quickly took all of the groups they had influenced down the toilet with them.  THAT was over until Jack Reiley reinvented them and sent them out to perform.  The world pretty much missed Wild Honey, Friends, 20/20 and Sunflower.  4 great albums tossed onto the 'who gives a sh*t' pile by Smiley Smile and the reaction it got from the world.  A solid NO THANKS!!!  Bye Bye.  Next!!!

There was a relaunch of sorts when Surf's Up came along.  But when Jack was done...so too were the Beach Boys as a solid and successful recording act.  They just never had enough great material gathered and ready to release at any given time which would make the release of another album noteworthy or valid for the public at large.  It's part of the reason why SO FEW of the songs recorded after Holland ever get performed.

There's Rock 'n' Roll Music and a few other covers.  Good Timin' and...and...and...Brian's solo material in limited doses.  Smiley Smile stuff?  Sure Good Vibrations and Heroes and Villains...but they were pretty much there by 'accident'.  Love You stuff?  Nada.  A great live band(s) which stopped amazing the masses with new music a LONG time ago.
------------------------------------------

Sorry I forgot about Kokomo...almost SADLY really...it's now become THE favourite song performed at a Beach Boys [not Brian Wilson] show.   From 1973 on...'cept for Brian D's works/shows...there ain't much there that really makes the grade.  You could almost successfully argue that we here are just fooling ourselves.  But heh!!!  It's worth it I guess.

Good read, nicely sums up the whole era.

It is true that to do the Carlton is my primary objective in life. Peace on Earth is second.

Cheesy  Carlton dancing is strangely hypnotizing.  So is the idea of Peace.  I get it.  Progressives have a long history of wanting to achieve lofty goals.  Purity.  Something always gets in the way.  Religion.  People.  Liberty.

Listen, I don't want to draw this out... so may I suggest that radical Muslims are not the biggest threat to the Progressive agenda?

I can't speak for Progressives as a whole (I know there are a few issues upon which most people termed "progressive" and I differ) but for me, yeah, radical Muslims are not the biggest threat to my political agenda.
This is not the first time I've looked for a shaking hands/we're at peace emoticon. But it's not there, so picture it in your head.

I hear ya Em -- we need more emoticons!

You're right.  The Progressive agenda is not threatened by radical Islam.  Unless an attack takes "the agenda" off the front page (as BLACK LIVES MATTER stated).  The biggest threat to "the agenda" is actually dopes like me.  More to point -- the Conservative movement, the US Constitution, American traditions, core values, individualism, liberty... I could go on and on.

Knowing that Progressives view crisis as opportunity (Rahm Emanual -- "never let a crisis go to waste") this discussion is just about ready to get interesting?*

*Unless the Chocolate Sheik needs an article stating 4 out of 5 dentists agree that the discussion is about to get interesting.   LOL
40  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: The Right to Keep and Bear Arms: The Gun Thread on: November 19, 2015, 07:01:33 AM
The far left's "arguments" are a mirage.  People have to buy into them, in order for them to exist.  When they look away, it just vanishes.  What DOES exist is the US Constitution.  Our Rights.  The truth.  We have the right to defend ourselves.

They can't get over that.

There are plenty of nations where they have it there way.  They demand that WE be like them.

Yes. Bean Bag's right.  It's the Climate.

Can't argue with FrankenBernie guys.  Stop pretendin'.  You're Progressives.

Climate change.

That's right Bernie.  The climate's-a-changin'.

My motives are I don't want anymore people to be killed by these rabid dogs, especially if one of them is me.

However, with each post, it becomes more and more apparent that this is NOT the agenda of the Progressives.  Their primary objective is to do the dance --

-- and advance the Progressive agenda.  First, foremost and always.
47  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Paris on: November 18, 2015, 07:02:37 AM
Emily -- I agree.  It's awful.  Violence is everywhere.  Not unique to Muslims.  Progressives are clear, decisive and quick to point that out.  They are vague, shifty and dismissive regarding the War with Muslim Extremism.  Why?

How does ignoring Muslim Extremism advance the Progressive agenda?

Captain -- if nobody (with a brain) denies Islamic fundamentalism is a problem... does that mean Progressives have half a brain?

Captain Beefheart - Grow Fins, Disc 3

Captain Beefheart - The Spotlight Kid

A fine album. I saw Beefheart sing most of the songs from it in London in 1972.
To say nothing of the Magic Band (Harkleroad, Boston, Ingber, Estrada, French, Tripp).
Mind-boggling!

That's awesome!  I love The Spotlight Kid.  At first, I found it sluggish and just a tad watered down -- but still really good.  But, as time went on (as with all Beefheart albums) I started to love it's mushy, swampy, lethargic, dirty grittiness.

So let's get back to reality...
The Shoe Bomber was a Muslim
The Beltway Snipers were Muslims
The Fort Hood Shooter was a Muslim
The underwear Bomber was a Muslim
The U-S.S. Cole Bombers were Muslims
The Madrid Train Bombers were Muslims
The Bafi Nightclub Bombers were Muslims
The London Subway Bombers were Muslims
The Moscow Theatre Attackers were Muslims
The Boston Marathon Bombers were Muslims
The Pan-Am flight #93 Bombers were Muslims
The Air France Entebbe Hijackers were Muslims
The Iranian Embassy Takeover, was by Muslims
The Beirut U.S. Embassy bombers were Muslims
The Libyan U.S. Embassy Attack was by Musiims
The Buenos Aires Suicide Bombers were Muslims
The Israeli Olympic Team Attackers were Muslims
The Kenyan U.S, Embassy Bombers were Muslims
The Saudi, Khobar Towers Bombers were Muslims
The Beirut Marine Barracks bombers were Muslims
The Besian Russian School Attackers were Muslims
The first World Trade Center Bombers were Muslims
The Bombay & Mumbai India Attackers were Muslims
The Achille Lauro Cruise Ship Hijackers were Muslims
The September 11th 2001 Airline Hijackers were Muslims

Let anyone of this faith into your country at your peril.

Ahhh, reality.  Such trouble it brings Progressives.

So what's going on, here?  Why are the Progressives trying so hard to convince you that you don't see what you see?  I'll tell ya...

It's all about the Progressives.  All of it.  No matter the case, the agenda of any Progressive is:  how can we advance Progressivism?

So Bean Bag -- how the fck does ignoring Muslim Extremism serve Progressives?
