I only know of the solo SNL performance of Love Is A Woman when Brian hosted, he also performed Good Vibrations I think.
Thanks for the link Dancing Bear, it's cool to see the variety of songs they played also that Dennis performed Friday Night and Whats Wrong.

Have The Boys ever performed any of the material from Love You in concert?

We're talking about wine, aren't we?

But anyway, speaking of Pabst...I've found it to be hilarious that it's such a popular hipster beer. Countless horn-rimmed glasses-wearing Rivers Cuomo lookalikes gulping it down. Every bar with bands that I go to.

A lot of Indie rocker types go for the crappy cheap old man beers I find.

I love Samuel Adams it's by far my favorite American beer next to Miller Genuine Draft.  Last night I drank a can of Old Milwaulkee, I nearly yakked!

Be sure to give the Bulgarian red wines a try, glad to hear you like the Chilian wine also I think South Africa and Australia are great producers of wine.

I'm somewhat of a wino, I like Notting Hill and any wine from Chili, Bulgaria and even California is good.

Actually it would have made a great double cd complilation, Keepin The Summer Alive, Endless Harmony, California, The Girls On The Beach, Girl Don't Tell Me, Let Him Run Wild and In My Car would have been good additions.

Fargo
Raising Arizona
Barton Fink

I love these three, but never cared much for the Big Lebowski.

The Big Lebowski isn't my favorite of the Coen Brother's films, lets not forget their 1984 keeper Blood Simple.

262  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bruce Johnston as a member of the Beach Boys on: July 10, 2006, 04:17:07 AM
Bruce is credited in the liner notes for Holland, I think he contributed vocals for the tag of Leaving This Town and someone mentioned Sail On Sailor and California, Bruce also appeared on 15 Big Ones singing backup and playing piano on tracks like Blueberry Hill and Just Once In My Life and he was on Love You, so it's like he never really left the band between 72-79.
263  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: If I Could Talk To Love on: July 06, 2006, 08:24:40 PM
Probably not, I think he collaberated with Myrna Smith on most of the tracks.  I thought it was possible the song may have been a personal message to Mike who at that time during Carl's departure from the Beach Boys had basically steered the group towards being a permanant oldies act.
264  Smiley Smile Stuff / 1970's Beach Boys Albums / Re: Carl And The Passions- So Tough on: July 06, 2006, 05:52:01 PM
This album is very good imho, it is unfairly slaughtered by fans and critics.  Sure it seems shaky and Blondie and Ricky's songs seem out of place but the songs themselves are great and unique for a beach boys album.  Brian of course contributed the standouts and Dennis gives us some lush but lovely ballads from his aborted solo album.  To me The Beach Boys can do no wrong during the early seventies and this record is as enjoyable as their others from this era, a 4.
265  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / If I Could Talk To Love on: July 06, 2006, 05:32:18 PM
Does anyone think this song from Carl's solo album was a personal message to Mike or just a song about love (the emotion)?
266  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bruce Johnston as a member of the Beach Boys on: July 06, 2006, 05:28:20 PM
Did Bruce participate on any of the Love You tracks? I swear I could hear him on the tag of I'll Bet He's Nice.
267  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bruce Johnston as a member of the Beach Boys on: July 06, 2006, 04:43:22 PM
Besides the main members ie Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike and Al, Bruce is by far the closest to being a full original member than other Beach Boys who have come and gone like Glen, Blondie, Ricki and even David Marks.  Bruce is also extremely talented, when I think of the other beach boys besides Brian who have blossomed in the late sixties with composing, arranging, producing etc Bruce is an equal to Dennis, Carl, Al and Mike.  Bruce's participation in a Beach Boys reunion is vital and necessacarry.

Not a fan of his vocals on this, I don't like it when McCartney starts squealing, ie: Oh Darling!

Actually I usually feel the same way, Mccartney's screaming can be grating but in this song it works.
269  Smiley Smile Stuff / 1970's Beach Boys Albums / Re: The Beach Boys Love You on: July 05, 2006, 01:14:11 PM
Carl sounds especially drunk on Everybody Wants To Live, I bought another copy of the 15 Big Ones/Love You two-fer its great rediscovering those songs especially on Love You, Let Us Go On This Way is one of the boy's best rockers.
270  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Oh Woman, Oh Why? on: July 05, 2006, 12:53:48 PM
This has got to be McCartney's greatest rare gem, This obscure song is awesome, I rediscovered it lately after buying yet another copy of Ram and it's a bonus track that was the b-side of Another Day, great bass, effects, vocals, great song.

Sounds of Summer without The Warmth of The Sun...blasphemy.

Wait for Vol. 2  Cool

Won't have to, at least it was included on The Greatest Hits Vol. 2 which is my favorite colection of their songs.
272  Smiley Smile Stuff / 21st Century Beach Boys Albums / Re: Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys on: July 05, 2006, 04:16:32 AM

Hopefully, this made a smidgen of sense.

Makes perfect sense it would lose something special if it was naked to the world again on that release.

The vocals during the tag are some of the sweetest sounds they made, a great song.
