The hidden tracks have been identified...shall I list them?

I have a hard time criticizing the work that the BB camp has put out over the past 15 years.  Think of all of the great things they have shared with us, warts and all.

229  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: SPOILER!!- Heroes and Villains and Good Vibrations from TSS on: September 04, 2011, 10:12:12 AM
Once again, I have posted a wave form PROVING THAT THERE'S NOTHING BUT DEAD SILENCE BEFORE THE WORD "I've". I can listen as closely as I want a billion times and as loudly as I want so I can hear it, and I have a good pair of ears -- and as you can see by the wave form, it is not on my copy, PERIOD.
Sweet melt!

I started watching youtube clips because of this thread which, in turn, got me choked up seeing footage of Carl.  Sometimes I'm reminded of how much I miss his presence on the stage and in the group.  Andfor the record, Mike's a badass, even at 70!

I wrote on his Facebook page "Happy Birthday Brian! Enjoy the cake."

Brian had been "fired" on Nov 5th. And as for breaks, they played the first part of their show that way after Carl returned. Saw them in August in Houston and that is how they played it there, only the opening tune was It's Ok.

Thanks for the information!

An interesting show from Montego Bay, Jamaica.  It was the Jamaica World Music Festival...other acts featured at the festival were the B-52s, the Clash, Jimmy Cliff, the Grateful Dead....and the Beach Boys?   I checked Andrew's site to see if Brian made it down to this one...apparently not.  It's a good recording but they don't seem take any breaks between songs...could be due to edits between the songs on the source tape.

It runs about 74 minutes, featuring 28 songs:

California Girls
I Can Hear Music
Sloop John B
Darlin'
Dance Dance Dance
Wouldn't It Be Nice
In My Room
Do It Again
409
Shut Down
The Little Old Lady From Pasadena
Little Deuce Coupe
I Get Around
Runaway
God Only Knows
Come Go With Me
Be True To Your School
Surfer Girl
All Summer Long
Help Me Rhonda
Rockin' All Over The World
Rock And Roll Music
Surfin' Safari
Surf City
Surfin' USA
Good Vibrations
Barbara Ann
Fun Fun Fun

I could discern from Mr. Love's comments that this was a morning performance which may explain Brian's absence...or maybe they couldn't guarantee the birthday cake in the concert rider.

What set Steve Hoffman off?  Anyone willing to share the 'Reader's Digest' version of what transpired?

Basically, he 'explained' why he'd said the project wasn't happening - because he'd been told to by Capitol, otherwise they'd pull the plug because fans were pestering them (seriously) - and most of the posters in the thread found that less than believable. I put forward, politely, my understanding of events, which centered on Alan's clanger and retraction. I guess some folk don't like to be contradicted.

That's funny stuff, indeed! Thanks for the explanation.

I received this autographed publicity photo in 1991 (postage due) after writing a fan letter to Brian in early 1990.  I always believed it was the real deal but never sought to verify its legitimacy.  The photo has begun to deteriorate due to uv exposure but it's still one of my life's treasures.

My autographed LP arrived today.  The signature is pretty good...but the jacket is slightly damaged in two places.  Should I email the company and raise a stink?

Has anyone been able to download the digital album on Brian's site?

I pre-ordered it there and I can't yet.

I just got an email with the download options...I'm downloading the FLAC files as I type.
245  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: BW.COM Revamp on: August 11, 2010, 11:55:42 AM
I bit on the autographed LP package.  At $60 bucks I thought it was a reasonable price for the signed LP, CD, and digital download...though I doubt there will be any bonus tracks with the download.

I have already heared the entire album (thanks to a 'friend') and it's fantastic! Smiley

There is former Nascar driver Dick Trickle...I even have my picture with him somewhere.

I agree with Erik H. on this one.  If you go the old biopic route it just turns into a showcase for the iconic BBs outfits and bad wigs/beards.   The 70s BBs are quite interesting and could offer enough material for several films.

You have to throw in a couple tracks from the Paley Sessions and Sweet Insanity (v.1 or 2) to make this package worth the cash.

I just finished watching the documentary and can't believe how much it got to me near the end.  A big thanks to all of you who made it possible.
