Phirnis,
Funny you should mention "...And Then There Were Three".That's also my Favorite Genesis album.
It's also one of the most cohesive albums as far as the track listing. Not ONE song on that album is bad!! From the first song "Down and Out" to "Follow You,Follow Me",no album has meant more and taken me back to being a teenager in the late 1970's then ATTWT.Awesome album!

Genesis with the song "Invisible Touch". yuck!
When I first heard it back in 1986 I thought,"What happened to the band that wrote "Supper's Ready","Dance On A Volcano" and all those albums from 1970 to 1980?"
And 5 years after Invisible Touch they would do "I Can't Dance".......double YUCK!!

Genesis were never the same after both Gabriel and Hackett left.

Genesis: 1972-1975 Gabriel era. 1976-1980 early Collins era!

Genesis during that period consistently put on some of the Greatest Live shows ever!!!! Be it with Gabriel fronting
or when Phil took over.IMHO after Duke tour 1980 they stopped being a great live band.

As stated by Mr. Darro in the SMiLE documentary,Brian was also interested in Metaphysics.
Which I've been heavily involved with since reading "Seth Speaks" by Jane Roberts back in 1977.
In fact, you now have a host of "Energy Personality Essence" Teachers to expand your awareness of SELF from since  Jane Roberts passed away in 1984 ending her channeling of Seth.
But now Kris and Elias are with us as channeled by Serge Grandbois and Mary Ennis respectively.
I'm sure Brian has dabbled in Metaphysics.........?

Cheers,

Glad to see you back on here again.I was wondering if you're going to post a link on here when you're
finished with the up-dated book? I missed out on the first printing and would very much like to purchase
you're book when it's ready.

Thanks Steve,

Matt-Zeus,
I agree with you fully about early Genesis sending shivers up the spine with the voicings that Tony Banks,Rutherford & Hackett used.
Genesis was always about "feel".Especially in the 70's.

I would like to think that if Carl were still alive that he would have had a hand in BWPS.He would have been very proud of his older brother for finally finishing it.

Who has Carl's Epiphone 12-String Electric? That picture above is amazing!

Carl is missed my Friends...........

Amazingly, everyone has overlooked "'Til I Die"!!!!!
It may be short, but Brian packed a punch with "Til I Die".And just like Cabinessence,'Til I Die quivers the emotions with it's beauty and power.

95  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Most brilliant Brian song? on: June 13, 2007, 10:15:50 AM
I do believe the consensus is right on the money!
Cabinessence
Surf's Up
Good Vibrations
Our Prayer

and for arrangement,Sloop John B.

Since most of us here on this board ARE muscian's,we're more apt to look at Brian's "materpieces" from that perspective.
But I too am in agreement as to he picks mentioned.

Cheers,

Sheriiff,
Yeah,I've been watching "Family Jewels" and Gene is one money hungry Jew!  LOL  I say that with much humor so as not to offend.
He looks like a China man since his face-lift.His kids are really cool and I love the way they parody their father.
BTW,Gene sucked at "Boot Camp".

I would add "KISS Alive" and "Rock and Roll Over" to that list of Metal albums.
Also "British Steel" by Judas Priest.

As an aside here:
Hasn't anyone found it amazing that "Pigs(Three Different Ones)" by Pink Floyd off of the "Animals" LP still escapes the Censors and FCC when it comes to the radio.
I mean "You F**ked up old hag,Ha Ha charade you are." STILL makes it on to the radio everytime......amazing.
