That interview is Hilarious!!! Since Howard went over to Sirius Radio I've forgotten just how good he is as an interviewer. And this interview w/Brian from 1998 was Stern at the pinnacle of his career following his movie "Private Parts" in 1997. Brian loosens up as the interview progresses and seems much more relaxed.

I've often wondered if Brian has read probably the most famous of the Metaphysics books, "Seth Speaks" by Jane Roberts. And since Jane's passing in 1984 you now have quite a few in the field of Metaphysics that have supplied invaluable information. Serge Grandbois who channels "Kris" and Mary Ennis who channels "Elias". But it was Jame Roberts and her channeling of Seth that laid the groundwork for what is now a huge movement in Metaphysics. Especially now as we all move thru "The Shift" in consciousness.

Nobody, There's a Pet Sound booklet as part of the Pet Sounds box set that has very detailed accounts from members of the Wrecking Crew on what they played and how Brian approached recording. Especially interesting is Carol Kaye's song by song description of who played what and each part that was played. The booklet inside the box set is a must read for those interested in how it all came together.

"Let The Wind Blow" espescially the "In Concert '73" version:
Let The Wind Blow Let the wind blow Let the grass grow But don't let her go
Don't take her out of my life Don't take her out of my life
Let the moon glow (let the moon glow) (on the fallen snow) On the fallen snow (let the moon glow) (on the fallen snow)
But i just got to know (let me please know oh oh oh) Know she'll be a part of my life Know she'll be a part of my life Forever
Let the bees make honey Let the poor find money Take away their sorrows Give them sunshine tomorrow
But don't take her out of my life Don't take her out of my life What would i do without her tell me now
Let the bird sing With the coming spring Let the church bells ring Let the rain fall Let the grass grow Let the moon glow On the fallen snow
But don't take her out of my life Please keep her a part of my life

"The queen in Copenhagee The dream of Amsterdamee The cream of gay Parisee The theme of U Say Asee The scene in Great Britainyee The meaning in Los Angees The heat in Tokyosee The treat in Manhattohsee Oo,yeah, yeah The Funky Pretty!"
Speaks for itself in it's surrealism.
And of course: "A diamond necklace played the pawn Hand in hand some drummed along, oh To a handsome man and baton A blind class aristocracy Back through the op'ra glass you see The pit and the pendulum drawn Columnated ruins domino
Canvass the town and brush the backdrop Are you sleeping?
Hung velvet overtaken me Dim chandelier awaken me To a song dissolved in the dawn The music hall a costly bow The music all is lost for now To a muted trumperter swan Columnated ruins domino"
Doesn't get any better than that!

Age 6 in 1969 at my Grandmother's house in Pottstown,Pa. My Aunt lived there(she was only 13)and had a bunch of 45's of The Monkees, Beatles and Beach Boys. The first BB song I ever heard and still my all time favorite was "Sloop John B". Then I think it was "California Girls" and "Let Him Run Wild" not sure? My very first Rock song was "Stand" by Sly & the Family Stone. The greatest "gift" I got was Christmas in 1973(10 years old) when I got "In Concert '73" on LP. WOW! Still the greatest live album(that and "Second's Out" from Genesis)that I ever received! And Sloop and "Let The Wind Blow" steal that LP.
My very first concert was the Beach Boys in 1976 at the Spectrum in Philly during the 15 Big Ones tour! And Heart opened for them during their Dreamboat Annie tour.

Excellent PDF files of the music! But I would love to know if anyone is ever going to make accurate staff lines for "When I Grow Up" and "Little Girl I Once Knew" ?? The layered harmonies are stellar on those 2 songs in particular. Yet no one to my knowledge has ever given them the treatment as the ones on the web site I just viewed. Bri

From the Holland review:
"Funky Pretty" is more on the guttural side of R&B. A cosmic love song to an astrological lovely, it mounts its grit in a swirl of harmonic complications, again underlining Blondie Chaplin's more straightforward vocal dexterity with a defiantly baroque choral signature: Vivaldi meets the Regents on a magic synthesizer. It makes for a beautiful track, built on economical and even monotonous musical premises that delight in their unreasonably complex development."
According to the above, Blondie sings the studio version of FP. If so, then WHY does it sound so much like Carl? And on the "In Concert" LP it IS Carl singing FP.

As I'm going through the process of recording my CD "The Human Experience" I find mySELF more and more interested in capturing EMOTION and Feeling moreso than the technical aspect of piecing this together. And amazingly I'm writing material on the spot as I'm recording!! Very cool creative "high" I'm on with my CD.
Cheers, Bri
