After the Beach Boys: 1.Actually TIED w/the BB's can only be................Genesis Anything from "Trespass" (1970) til "Duke" in 1980. 'Supper's Ready' is still the Greatest song ever written.
2. RUSH - what more can be said about the most awesome 3-piece band ever! 1974-1982.
3. Gary Numan - Huge influence musically on me!
4. Roxy Music - Bryan Ferry & Co. are still unbeatable to this day as far as innovation and artistry.
5. Marillion - The Fish era was incomprable!
6. Cat Stevens - what more can be said..............Harold & Maude!
7. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, King Diamond, Motorhead, Ozzy {w/Randy Rhoads}, MSG
8. Jethro Tull - "Passion Play" and "Thick as a Brick" Bri~

Glad to see you back Stephen! Happy New Year too you as well. I'm looking forward to the release of the 2nd edition of your book as I missed out on the 1st run.
I'm sure everyone on here would love to have your thoughts and opinions on the release of "The SMiLE Sessions"? Have you heard it? etc.

Interesting topic indeed! I've always relayed to family and friends that at my service I want the "Seconds Out" version of "Supper's Ready" by Genesis to be played in it's entirety. The end of this masterpiece alone is worth it.........."To take them to the new Jerusalemmmmmmmmmmmm" Still sends shivers up my spine. Then the "In Concert" versions of "Sloop John B." and "Let The Wind Blow". And of course to me the Greatest song Brian ever wrote....................."At My Window".
Fitting send off to this Musician.

I do believe that Matt-Zeus hit it right on the head! Him and I both share the Genesis/Beach Boys as our 2 favorite bands. And the Genesis I'm talking about is anything BEFORE "Duke"(which was their last real Genesis LP). It's the structure of the chords and song craftsmanship by Brian Wilson and Tony Banks/Mike Rutherford/Steve Hackett that actually make these two bands very "akin" to one another. But above all...........it's the Heartfelt EMOTION that both bands bring to their music that has always been the real draw to myself.

Kayla, Do you write your OWN music? I've been watching your stuff for a while now and you're extremely talented.
Have you thought about forming your own group? I especially love your version of "Let The Wind Blow". That song has always been one of my favorites. Especially the version off of "In Concert 1973".
Keep up the excellent job that you're Passionately enjoying!
Cheers, Big Bri
