I'm pretty easy to please, I like all these tracks though I've always thought Good Timin' was a bit of fluff.
1. It's OK 2. Getcha back 3. Summer in Paradise 4. Goin' on 5. Isn't it time 6. Rock and Roll Music 7. Come Go With Me 8. Good timin'

I got to hear both Brian and Bruce (at different shows of course) sing You're So Good to Me over the summer, and I think both did a great job. (The Beach Boys didn't do You're So Good to Me when I saw them in 2012).
I also think Bruce does a very good job on Please Let Me Wonder in concert.
I haven't been present for a Bruce "Let me wonder." Brian was very shouty in Melbourne on "you're so good to me" back in '12, it was certainly his least impressive vocal on the night.

Melbourne was great, except for the fact we didn't get "Still Cruisin.'"
Bruce sang "You're so good to me" marginally better than Brian did in '12, and he actually sounded great on Brian's verses of Sloop John B.
Enough pictures of the boys (No David though) constantly fading in and out on the video screen to leave anyone in the audience having each of them floating through their dreams for the next few months.
Fabulous night though, great to hear "I'm so young" and "good to my baby." My wife was keen to take a toilet-break during "cotton fields," not sure why they played that one without Al "forcing" them.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've played Belles of Paris a few times today. It helps to hear a nice song about Paris in an awful time like this.
Speaking of the song, I really think it's underrated. MIU has its haters, but flawed as it is, I'm not one of them. In particular, this song, while it has its cheesy parts, is still a fun listen. I like when Mike sings in the lower tone like this, and the melodies are nice. Give it a listen today, it might cheer you up just a bit.
I like it too, Mike's vocals are all strong on MIU. The Christmas version has the far superior lyrics, but I'm not sure why Al's singing it. He does a fair Mike impression but why not just have Mike?

You`re So Good to Me was performed throughout 2008 I believe including at the lengthy British shows (where Here Today and Good to My Baby were also heard).
I remember "Here Today" was played (and sounded fantastic!) with the Australian Symphony Orchestra at the Melbourne show I went to in late 2010 (I think it was)

I wish someone would ask him more questions about Smiley Smile and Wild Honey. What did he think of "Gettin' Hungry", for example? He wrote the lyrics, after all. To me, "Gettin' Hungry" is one of the more fascinating, unexplored aspects of the Boys fall from fame. "Heroes and Villains" may not have performed up to expectations, but it stayed at #12 for 2 weeks. Had Brian kept things in perspective, he'd have realized it was only a minor commercial setback.
To follow it up with "Gettin' Hungry" almost smacks of deliberate sabotage, or a conscious decision to be less commercial. It's not actually bad song, but it has such a bizarre, minimalist production, recorded at the last second in one day. He'd spent way more time on "Vegetables", even during the Smiley Smile sessions, and that song was originally conceived as a single. In fact, he'd experimented with a piano arrangement quite a bit during the SS sessions and had apparently considered adding in "With Me Tonight". The extended mix of the song includes a bridge that basically sounds like an adaptation of the "With Me Tonight" theme.
Anyway, the short of it is, I'm not sure how Mike could've been happy with Brian releasing "Gettin' Hungry" as a single, even if it featured his lyrics.
Perhaps Mike was okay with its release since it's credited to him and Brian on the single/sleeve. Do we know if it was purely a lyrical contribution or did Mike provide a "hook" too? He was presumably pretty okay with it by the time "celebration" came around. That version is undeniably funky and fun, although the extra verse adds nothing to the song. It perhaps reflects the safer, more pedestrian lyrics Mike began churning out up in later days.

Same song as "Skatetown USA" (different lyric, of course). The chorus you quoted is:
Surfers are surfin' And dancers are dancin' You're sure to find a honey If you love romancin' I'm gonna tell my pa, why don't you tell your teach We're gonna make it out to California Beach.
Verse goes something like:
East west north south And inbetween There's no place quite like The California scene Doesn't take a lot of bucks To get you there There've been millions who go there By land sea or air.
I swear, I did not just make that up.
Thanks Andrew! I have not heard Skatetown USA. I'm sure the lyrics are much better

Anyone know all the lyrics for the chorus of "California beach"? I can hear "the surfers are surfin', the dancers are dancin', you're ? true love romance. ?? You've gotta make it out to California beach." Now come on, this can't be a real song, right? Yep, Love/Jardine unreleased track from '79. Quite fun, if you like that sort of thing. I would've preferred it to be on MIC in place of "Goin' to the beach." Mike recycled the verse melody for "Santa's goin' to Kokomo" in more recent times. It was on youtube a while back, but I cannot locate it there now.

I think they should given a full-disc to 1980 – 2012 and saved the live tracks for a 4 to 5 disc live anthology for release next year. Here's a nice (imo) track-list:
1. Keepin' the summer alive 2. Goin' On 3. Santa Ana Winds (alternate) 4. Da doo run run 5. You are so beautiful (live) {we have to have some Dennis on this disc} 6. Why Don’t They Let Us Fall In Love 7. Getcha Back 8. Where I belong 9. She believes in love again (stripped down version) 10. Male Ego 11. California Dreamin' 12. Rock 'n' roll to the rescue 13. East meets west (or chasin' the sky) 14. Kokomo 15. Somewhere near Japan (single version) 16. Still cruisin' 17. In my car (2012 mix, to tone down some of the production excesses) 18. Lahaina Aloha 19. Under the boardwalk (UK mix) 20. Strange things happen (US mix) 21. Summer in paradise (I don't mind personally which version) 22. Soul Searchin' 23. You’re Still A Mystery 24. Like a brother (not actually beach boys, I know) 25. That's why God made the Radio 26. Isn't it time (single mix) 27. Summer's Gone

He sort of gets lost in the mix a bit when he reaches for the higher falsetto notes "...I'm gonna take you overrrr!" Would've been good if he got backed up by Jeff or something just to beef that section up.
Still though, the guys and the band sound fantastic. Hope it stays in the set for the remainder of the tour....
Could hear him fine in Melbourne... Had to admire the vocal, it was clear he was pretty close to testicle explosion.

The setlist is up on setlists fm--wow, you guys got a good one in that respect!
It was an amazing set-list, the songs just kept rolling out! They started just after 8, and after a tight 20 minute interval didn't finish till around 11.10pm! I don't know how the old fella's do it! We are very very blessed to have had this happen - If someone had told me a year or two ago that I would be seeing all the remaining beach boys together for a concert and that they would be playing "All this is that," "It's OK," "Add some music" and "Little Honda" (to name but a few) I would have been somewhat astounded!

So why was no video wall in Singapore ? I'm confused ? Anyway, very nice version of GOK by Brian. Thanks for the links !
From Mike's Australian interview, I gathered that the video wall is only being used when the venue has the equipment. They didn't bring it with them, but if the venue has one, they use it. Can you direct me to this Australian interview? I have not come across mention of it until now.
