A lot of great replies in this thread, but there is something that hit me. Was one of Denny's come back/sobering moments because of the dive Carl took? We hear them in the Australian tour where it seemed Dennis was in CONTROL (compared to CW) when Carl was out and about. Is this because "he wanted to be clean" or because he saw his brother's state and didn't want to see him do the same self-destructiveness that he and Brian went through/are going through.

Somehow it goes really well with Smile because in many ways it's the exact opposite of it.

I disagree, unless you mean Brian's recordings...theres something about the majesty of all that is Disney that lies in perfectly with SMiLE. The idea of Americana for example is exactly something Walt wanted to portray with Main Street USA in his parks, it was something he longed for. I remember having moments of clarity when walking down the park and having parts of SMiLE just playing in the back of my mind...and it made sense.

When I listen to the Disney songs, I think of everything collectively...and it makes sense.
