Carl's son Jonah is a successful real estate agent in Southern California. I know Justyn was in a band for a while, and of course Carnie and Wendy formed Wilson Phillips and still perform as such. Dennis' son Michael was a chef and restaurant owner for a while. Matt Jardine, is obviously performing, and doing a stupendous job as such! Adam Jardine was running a limo business in the Monterrey area for a while, not sure about Al's other 2 kids, or the others for that matter.

The book lists 9/8/74 at Rossevelt raceway in Westbury NY as likely Ricky Fataar's last show. New Year's Rockin Eve is taped well in advance of airing.

Smart guy. Carl Wilson

Wipeout and SOL certainly rank up near the top. Performance wise, the televised live show from the Queen Mary with an absent Carl and Brian straining on Don't Worry Baby. Their most cringe worthy performance if you ask me. All these years later, and I can't get it out of my mind.

SOL.....UGH! Complete embarrassment. Could possibly be the worst tune they ever recorded, certainly one of the most embarrassing.
556  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Need avdice for picking a good seat for Brian at Radio City on: July 09, 2017, 05:27:27 PM
I've been to many of his local shows, and a friend of mine thought he had great seats directly in front of Brian and his piano. He couldn't see Brian, and
the piano blocked him the entire time. Sit right of center if your close to the stage....right looking at the stage.
557  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The Beach Boys Wild Honey(Sunshine Tomorrow) 2CD Set? on: July 09, 2017, 07:20:57 AM
A bit late to the party as I was traveling on vacation when the release came out last week. Listening to the stereo version of WH right now, almost through the first section....just tremendous. Sounds like a completely different CD than the muddy original version. Hope they do this with all of the back catalogue!!! LOVE IT!!!

That was truly awful. Talk about killing the history of the band....boo on Mike Love.

Too bad it's not the unreleased Campfire footage from the Endless Summer tv series from years back. That was the best pasrt of that show, by far.
560  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Would Al have been a better choice for lead on California Girls? on: June 28, 2017, 03:51:31 AM
Not a huge Mike fan, and I love Al's voice......that being said, while Al would do a great job on it, Mike does own the tune, and it's really been his signature one too.

You're right that sounds great!

Always thought Christine wrote "Wish You Were Here" on Mirage for Dennis. Truly that is a great track!

Would love to see an official release of the '93 Box set acoustic shows. They shines on that tour, especially Carl and Al.

Always liked Dennis' vocal on ITSOTN.
566  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Kokomo Live on: April 29, 2017, 06:16:11 AM
Agree with the comments about Carl's vocals...on Kokomo and every other song he sang lead on. None sound the same w/o Carl.
567  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Dennis Wilson's Bambu is getting a vinyl release for RSD '17. on: March 26, 2017, 10:53:28 AM
I have an original Booted version of Bamboo from the mid eighties found that a record collector show. It has a beautiful picture of Dennis on the front as well as some back cover photos taken on the beach at the pier. Great photos and the original album jacket. Looking forward to the release

Nothing too drastic or different really.....the doctor who performed the autopsy said he believed it was a relatively rare for of shallow water drowning(not really sure how they differs from drowning in general) which he said occurs in shallow water with excellent swimmers who are gasping for air. Again, the alcohol in his system, at .26, likely attributed to all of this, along with an enlarged liver from the alcohol, and that's what he said. Nothing outlandish. It's very similar to what has been reported and what many of us thought.....at least that was my take on it.

Sorry if I ruined or "spoiled" the ending for others, but seems most who couldn't watch it wanted to know and like I said, it was determined it was a form of drowning, which we al knew, along with the accompanying circumstances.

Watched the show last night on Reelz....interesting, particularly the feedback from Eddie and John. I thought their commentary on Dennis, while revealing relatively little new information, provided more of a "real" element and made the show feel very authentic. The actor who portrayed Dennis really had little resemblance to him, at that stage of his life. The re enactments of what lead up to Denny's death felt a bit strained. Would have enjoyed more of a panel interview with folks from that time. But considering Denny's death occurred almost 34 years ago, and we're still talking about it and watching shows like this really attest to how so many of us are still touched by Dennis. Great job Eddie and John, and all others who participated on this event. The doctor who performed the autopsy review seemed genuine, and I was glad they quickly eliminated thins like foul play etc....which seemed a bit ridiculous.

571  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bruce Johnston records \ on: March 16, 2017, 12:42:40 AM
Boy, I thought that was pretty terrible. I will say, at least Bruce could still sing well back then, as opposed to now. He's really just morphed into Mike Love's flunky at this point......well paid though for his flunki ness.
572  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike's leadership of the band on: March 14, 2017, 04:54:46 AM
I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Fosket at a solo house performance a few years ago in NJ. I found him to be a bit aloof, self centered, and just really "into himself".....seemed to me like he thought he was a big star....bigger star than he was. He wasn't rude or anything.....at least not to me....but there was an air about him that he carried. I must say, I didn't care for him.
573  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Dennis on REELZ TV on: March 07, 2017, 01:11:13 PM
I hope they repeat this on the following Sunday or Monday, since I'lll be out of town that Saturday with no access to Reelz and I don't have a dvr. DAMN!
574  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Why are Wondermints records so hard to find? on: February 25, 2017, 05:55:05 AM
I have both Bali and Mind if We Make Love to you, and they're great. I think I found both years ago at a local independent record store in Red Bank NJ.
