As an aside, how does the Bottom Line 4/13 show sound compared to the 4/11 “My Father’s Place” recording that floats around? Interesting that two successive shows on Carl’s solo tour were both broadcast on the radio?
I recorded the Bottom Line show myself, live off the air, yet it still doesn't sound quite as good as the Long Island show that I downloaded about 10 years ago. Pretty close though.

Although I've always been a big fan of this song, I've also always fealt that it's 2 completely unrelated songs mashed together. I think it would have had been a potentially successful single without the "She don't know" breaks. They come out of left field.

As noted, drummer Dennis Diken is a huge BB fan / historian / archivest. He recently co hosted a radio show on WFMU with Irwen Chusid on BW's birthday, where they played & talked about many BB rarities.
The band still does live shows. I saw them in November & they were amazing.

A few years ago, someone on this board posted a link to a stock footage clip that absolutely fascinated me. In the clip, you see the band jamming in an empty auditorium in the early 70s. Unfortunately, there's no sound. Personnel was as follows:
Ricky on electric guitar Ed Carter on electric guitar Carl on bass guitar Daryl Dragon on keyboards Blondie on the drum kit
I believe Blondie played a bit of drums & piano with the Flame & also on his solo album.

Ahhh, someone's at it again...I won't mention the name, but....I'll just use a pseudonym. Let's say Charlene Potassium said this: Some of you have asked my opinion on the "movie"...... >>>>>>>>>Ahhh Grimm's Fairy Tale.......nothing in it is true about the Studio Musicians - how would anyone know it was true or not when they never were on those dates?...... I'm not a ditsy gal sitting in a fire hat, that never happened....and no Brian never did music in "two keys"...that was invented by people who have NO IDEA what he did....plus I never looked like that at all..... and no, the "world according to Hal Blaine" never existed.....he didn't "help Brian" at all...and the wifey? that's the biggest one of all.....some of her fans call her "Melinda"....but good you heard the music, that's the only thing in it that's real. For people who love fantasy, they get a good dose of it there. And if anyone reading this is angry at what I say, then yes...."the movie is perfect, all of it is true!"......that should make you feel better, (signed) The "Bimbo"! Glad I don't live anywhere near Hollyweird any more! PS....just so EVERYONE KNOWS .....STUDIO MUSICIANS have been around since 1920s recording record dates, movie sound tracks etc.....we've NEVER been known by ANY OTHER NAME.....all 350-400 STUDIO MUSICIANS were NEVER A BAND....ALL OF US WERE FREELANCE, and mostly Jazz Musicians.......anything else someone tries to name us something else... is BULLSHIT. Real Journalists know this....see our real Interviews here: www.howardrobertsproject.com
I think she's finally gone off the deep end.

Not an early incident by any means, but I'll just throw it out there: When I saw the band at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island in early September of 1976, just after the opening act (The Cate Brothers) were done, a whole bunch of folding chairs were set up on stage at the side. Just before the BB came on, a bunch of older looking folk, including Audree, who were all dressed up, walked up & sat in the chairs. I thought it a bit odd to see these people, assuming they were relatives, coming to an east coast gig to see the Boys. Dennis brought Audree out to take a bow during the show.

Blimey… hadn't dipped into this thread before. DW Suite starts off with a favourite tune (it's a trad Scottish folk song) of my partner's late husband. Also Custer's marching song. For all the good it did him. The melody at the beginning is "Wild Mountain Thyme" - a traditional Scottish tune. Later in the song you hear "Garryowen" which is a traditional Irish march that Custer was fond of. I've always wondered why Buckingham incorporated these Celtic melodies into a tribute to Dennis. Was it simply because Wilson is a Scottish surname?
