The Morgantown 2009 L&M clip-- he was wearing the same outfit that he wore in Munhall, PA, around the same time. For that show, he played the keyboard for almost the entire first set, and his singing was really good. However, that was the beginning of the Brian-is-so-relaxed-he-looks-like-he-fell-asleep phase.
He was NOT playing a grand piano at the Grammys, btw. It was one of those digital keyboards that's only about 3 feet deep, and looks like a grand. When I saw a shot of him at the keyboard, with the cockpit of buttons above the keys, I was getting that Baldwin organ vibe. That thing might be his own instrument, and easy enough to set up on stage for a tour-- probably weighs a couple hundred pounds, max.

That will probably be the album title I would suppose as well. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the last album, though... just a clever title.
THANK you. Been meaning to say that. People live into their 90's, and the boys are 70 or younger. Tony Bennett is 85 and seemingly going strong, and a pianist named Horszowski (sp.?-- I don't mean Horowitz) did his last recording at 99. I'd say it's LIKELY their last album, given the way things have been for the last 25 years, but that's just an assumption, seeing as Brian just decided to start sounding 30 again in the last few years. Maybe they'll remake Fall Breaks and Back to Winter on this one, and Winter Symphony on the one after that. If they make a 3rd reunion album for their 75th anniversary, I guess they're stuck cycling back to Their Hearts Well Full of Spring. At that point, it'll be a Wall of Foskett.

My claim to fame is that, upon release of the reissue, I mentioned the wrong mixes on the PSML. Somebody forwarded my comments to Mark, and he insisted that they were the right mixes, even saying that the 3 loud synth notes before the L&M coda were loud because of the higher bitrate. Yeah, I don't think bitrates add like 6 dB; just sayin'...

May I ask about the confirmation of the OCA vocal arrangements? Always seemed like pure Brian to me, but I've seen it stated many times quite definitively (at least in the minds of the posters) that VDP wrote the arrangements.
Regarding IJWMFTT: haven't watched it for a while, but Brian's tardive diskenesia (sp.?) was quite in evidence during the performance footage, as he seemed to be trying really hard to get the words out properly. If lip-syncing, wouldn't it make more sense to go for a more relaxed appearance and not try so hard?

Newguy, what does this make you? A slut! A prostitute! You'll be having so much sex you can't pay for it, and heaven forbid we should. If we're going to consent to your threesome and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch.

I can't tell Mike from Bruce any longer. They're both neckless, baseball-capped Weebles. The only way to tell is that one has a prop keyboard, and the other one has more "bling", as the kids say.

What's with the guy with the plastic face and the teeth who introduces it? He looks like a bad CGI experiment.
I was originally going to put up a random clip of him in the TERRIBLE sitcom 'Saved By The Bell' - then I came across this little jewel 15 seconds into my search: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtjnXw_iEAE&feature=relatedBEWARE! This video is not for the faint of heart. Evidently these are the spirit-fathers of the smiling Mexigay who introduced the Extra segment. BTW, Brian plays H&V in A (rather than D-flat) in the interview...as far away as a key can be.

I was under the assumption that digital editing had been around for, what, 15 to 20 years at that point? And what about all the syncing between vocal and instrumental tracks? Maybe he meant that it was MASTERED on analog, but he did say edited, as unlikely as that sounds...maybe he meant PS was edited on analog, as opposed to the PS BOX.
