I didn't want this month to slip away without mentioning the Beach Boys' 25th anniversary special that aired on ABC in March of 1987--35 years ago. The special itself was a throwaway in the eyes of most BB fans, but at the tender age of 12, it was my first real introduction to the Beach Boys. (I had a friend who owned an Endless Summer cassette and had let me borrow it a few months prior, but this really sealed the deal!) Side note: I remember watching the member introductions at the start of the special and wondering if Brian Wilson and Carl Wilson were related. Grin

Awesome! I conversed with Alan a few times back in the day. (I maaaayyy have even taught him the correct backing lyrics to "Darlin'".) I knew that he had gotten killed on a bicycle a few years back and hated it so much. Happy to see that the files survive. BTW, he also had posted transcriptions for a few Eagles vocal harmony parts. Maybe those will be located someday!

Bruce was on The Weakest Link 2000-ish.

My ears have lied to me before, but I think the lead vocal on the verses of BHITM has been sped up a whole step. Slow it down so that the key drops a whole step, and it definitely sounds like Al. I believe all the other vocals and instruments on the official release are at original speed. (I feel like such a fool giving my opinion on a thread that Stephen Desper is involved in!) I've not met most of you here. I'm Jason from Oklahoma.
