I'm curious if anyone has noticed Mark's stamp on the new stereo mixes? Like on TSS Heroes and Villains how the background vocals come in louder than the original mix, or how Mike's bass part on the "children were raised" was also brought higher in the mix? Should be noted that I mostly enjoy those two additions. Were those even a Linett thing?

Everybody should follow up on this post and check out the music mentioned in this in it. Japanese rock music from the mid 70s to the early 80s betrays a prominent Beach Boys influence. Van Dyke Parks produced the original band Hosono was in, Happy End, and he was a big fan of exotica music. Another member of Happy End was this producer and songwriter Eiichi Otaki. He's absolutely wonderful, and his album A Long Vacation from 1980 features genuine Beach Boys wall of sound type production and a cameo from Fun, Fun, Fun. It's sort of weird sh*t, and is hard to track down, but it's a special pleasure for long time Beach Boys fans, and is incredibly infectious.
betrays? Anyway, that yellow magic song is money.

me listening to the salt lake city stereo clip with my nice headphones. "hey those saxes sound really badass" *the girl the girl + background harmonies kick in* "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHIIIIIIIIEEEAAAAAAAAAAAT" My exact reaction when the guitar part kicked in during Good To My Baby i just took a listen, my reaction was "ffufufufufufufufufuuuuuuuuuuuuu". and dang getting hungry is a great lil tune in stereo.

My knowledge of the matter is minimal. But, from watching clips alone, I can't see what's so bad about the dude singing DWB. It's no Foskett at the Kingdome 83, but it aint terrible either. Maybe it's his vocal improvisations near the end, that it make it so objectionable. I could see that...
It sounds like a cat being swung around the room by it's testicles dang it, i'm in a library, people are trying to study. don't make me laugh like that again.
