random thought i'll put here.  it'd be so cool if he sang "a day in the life of a tree".  so cool.  fits his current voice.

i hope he doesn't retire anytime in the next couple years.  being overseas for the next year is killing me cause i keep thinking he might retire.  plus i can lower the average age a bit.

i like to think Darian or whatev give him new music to hear.  but his comment bout modern rap makes me think he doesn't hear music unless it's on the radio.

and the interview was done before the Disney stuff was announced.  maybe he had already started working on Gershwin?
2004  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wild Honey Sound Quality/Releases on: October 27, 2009, 12:25:30 AM
i wish they'd release everything in stereo.  every time i hear a clip of a past tune (like hearing let him run wild 2 mins ago) in stereo on itunes i crumple at how amazing it sounds.  spitting out a couple stereo songs on compilations can get frustrating!! better than nothing obv.

OH THAAAT ONE.

i decided that's not even him.

I much prefer seeing pics of Brian like that than the white-toothed grinning travesty of recent promotional material.

the lucky old sun stuff were like his best looking pictures since the 60's
2007  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bono a GOK's fan! on: October 20, 2009, 08:17:53 PM
of course he's a GOK fan. who isn't! doesn't the wiki page say he said the strings were proof of angels? or something? sounds so bono.

Runaways:  too old for disney but too young for gershwin.

Good music is good music regardless of when it was written/created.  Look forward to it.

indeed the point of what i was saying

too old for disney but too young for gershwin.

am i the only one who said "what?" to this?

i'm 22. i suppose that's just right for the 90's disney.  but i must be way too young for gershwin. but i enjoy his music.  and heck i must be WAY too young for the beach boys.  i was born 20 years after SMiLE went belly up.
2010  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: MP3 vs. CD vs. Vinyl - What Are The Differences? on: October 11, 2009, 06:31:46 AM
i hate buying songs from itunes.  or just having an mp3.  I like to feel like i have a physical copy.  though i'm aware that tech will be gone in a bit.  sigh.

i've always heard that dip in the volume at "and the way the sunlight plays upon her hair".
2012  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Smile voted 4th best album of the decade by Uncut Magazine on: October 09, 2009, 08:04:19 PM
Oh, and for the record, my list is probably something like Love & Theft, BWPS, Belle & Sebastian's Dear Catastrophe Waitress, Beulah's Coast is Never Clear, Of Montreal's Satanic Panic in the Attic, Iron & Wine's the Shepherd's Dog, Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, Herman Dune's Giant, Shins' Chutes Too Narrow, and Tom Waits' Alice. Not in that order. And with another 30 discs contending for those same spots.

Beulah is good good stuff.  I dig Yoko just as much.  Looking forward to Miles' solo record.

I'm also have trouble figuring if they mean a whole abum or just Brian finishing a couple.  But then he signed for a 2 album deal.  that second one...um...i'll wait and see on the disney one. but i loove me some disney.
2014  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: A new Tweet from Brians Account.... on: October 07, 2009, 04:58:16 PM
Concerts would definitely underwhelm me just cause i know i wouldn't be able to go.  Though, this was originally tweeted about with a bunch of shows being announced.

why would you need to sign contracts for an album? unless Brian has signed a new record deal slash signed to do another suite thing like he did for TLOS.  or maybe he's scoring a movie.  random thought.
