Who's singing the "Na na na na na" at 2.28 in Summer's Gone?
229  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The inclusion of Don't fight the sea' would make a much better album on: June 02, 2012, 02:30:36 PM
I know this isn't possible, but some of the Wilson/Paley era songs would have been cool. I'm thinking new backing tracks and new vocals.

"My Mary Anne" would be soooo cool as a BB track - picture Mike doing the opening bass vocals. Although Melinda doesn't like it when Brian sings about other girls nowadays (this peeves me a bit).

"You're Still A Mystery" obviously would have been a cool canidate - and also "It's Not Easy Being Me" could have worked in the context of the suite.

I don't know, these songs are so great that they would make the rest of the album...kinda suck.

Really good Luther! It reminds me of Brian demos in the 70s, and I love Brian demos in the 70s Smiley

Paul McCartney's Good Times Coming-Feel The Sun (Press To Play) - it's very catchy and so good, specially 2nd song!

I thought I was alone! Such a great song, I actually think Paul were a little depressed when he wrote that song. To forget his problems he wrote this mantra,"Good times coming, laughing at the good times coming in". Thats how I Imagine it anyway.

Who is singing the "Bow bow bow bow" on Chapel Of Love? And is it Al singing "Yeah yeah yeaahhh" at 1.47?

It seems like Brian wrote The Private Life of Bill and Sue in 2009. This is a translation from a 2009 swedish interview:

Is it easier for you to write music today?
- No, it's really not. I wrote the album That Lucky Old Sun, but nowadays it's a little harder for me.

Why?
- I don't know... I'm not sure I can do it anymore.

Not sure you can?
- Maybe if I really wanted. I have tried my best. By the way, I wrote a song last week called The Private Life of Bill and Sue. It goes like this: "The private life of Bill and Sue. It does not matter what They do." I havn't finished the lyrics yet, but the melody is done.

Brian Wilson begins to sing:
- "The private life ..." I can't do it by heart, but I have it on tape.

The outro of Sweet Mountain by American Spring

the best part is when Brian sings "well it rained on the mountain, the mountain of love"
It's so subtle because his voice was just starting to change (he almost sounds like on the Mt.Vernon EP, same croaky voice, beautiful for this song!)

Amazing! Are there any more moments like this with Brian on The American Spring album? Love to hear his voice in this period.

This performance brought me to tears. Don't listen to this if you are depressed.

Apologies if this has already been posted but I just found it on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rA46mECuM0
.

One good thing about Robo-Brian is that he's pretty easy to detect in the backing vocals

"Bah bah bah bah bah bahhhh bah bahhhh bah bah bahhhhh bah bah"

True! Grin

Just out of curiousity, has Brian ever had live autotune on his voice before, and did anybody notice anything weird about Brian's leads from last night?

No, he hasn't used autotune live before based on everything I've seen/heard.

And if he were to start, well, that would suck. Especially if it was obvious.   Roll Eyes

Only TWGMTR sounded like Brian had some crazy live autotune on his voice.

Listen to the ending of Heroes & Villains, "I'm fit with the stuff to ride in the rough".  It sounds like some badly tracking vocoder jittering back & forth between two notes.

Yeah, that was horrible.

I think this song is quite similar to Paul McCartneys I'm Carrying.
