Well they listened to the complete 2CD last night and read some essays and excerpts from LLVS and loved it.
So, yeah.
I started on the now old SS/WH CD, listened to SS & then read the booklet. When reading how almost an year worth of sessions work was junked & how beautiful it was too. Got me to find out more, reading about Smile is on par to listening to it IMHO. Also fitting the jigsaw pieces together per Smile Sessions box set was alot of fun. It used to be months or years before another piece became known via offical or bootleg. Finding out and discovering Smile for yourself & others is part of the fun Enjoy.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but the photo used in the video of Brian in the pool holding up a gold disc. Looking a ghostly pale white with extra long finger nails too. Do we know when it was taken?, I would of said late 74 cause Brian is holding up the gold disc for Endless Summer (I think??). Sadly one of the most depressing & slightly scary photo of Brian ever IMHO.

The tours have been good, but lets face it, he's a 70 year old bloke who gets bad stage fright, hates travelling and is well known to be a fan of staying in bed and eating ice cream.
If I were him I'd plant some pot in the backyard, stock the fridge up, and spend my dotage getting stoned in a hammock!
Yes......apart from the last bit about growing pot of course!!

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Time now for Brian to retire after 2012?.

I love Brian & have seen him play RFH in 2004. But sometimes I feel that it can't be easy for him to play live. Saying that he has done a great job & has exceeded the dreams of us all. Maybe he could go on. but after this year he deserves to go out on a high. Brian keeps on getting better & better so naybe I'm totally wrong. Does anyone else feel this way about Brian too?, to call it a day & rest easy.

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Imagination album Stereo Remix, who else loves this?.

On the version that I don't have there is a bonus track which sounds like a demo of Your imagination with someone scatting over the instrumental verses. It doesn't sound like Brian. Is this Joe Thomas writing the verse melody? Any info would be much appreciated. Always hate the idea of anyone but BW writing a melody in a BW song.....
Yes that's the version I'm talking about too with this bonus track and others too.

Seeing that we all love TWGMTR, I started listening to the Imagination album remix again that someone did via the 5.1 CD. It's great and dare I say it but I did love the album when it was first brought out in 1999 (was it??.). But the remix that someone did really makes its even better IMHO. Who else has heard this and what did their think too?.
Haven't heard of this - would appreciate more info, if possible! This is new to me aswell. I've always had a soft spot for imagination. Indeed. I loved it since first listen - Also love the a cappella of 'Your Imagination'. Would love to hear a new mix sometime! Yes it has also got all the a cappella of "Your Imagination", & "South American" too. Will be offline for a few hours as I'm cooking steak for my dad on this Father's day. Cheers. Plus just got myself a new home to move too at the end of this month too. Happy Days are here again!!!

Haven't heard of this - would appreciate more info, if possible! Check out your postbox. It's something I've found on an old hard drive, It's was something I'd picked up years ago and forgotton about till now esp with all this talk about how well Joe Thomas has done on the TWGMTR Album (and quite right too!!). Basically someone (Not me!!) had a go at remixing the Imagination album via the special 5.1 cd/dvd that come out years ago??. A bit like oops(ing) the original album only much better e.g. Brian's Vocals up high in the mix, some background vocals mixed up too. certain parts cut out or enhaned. South American for example has an "New" intro & sounds even better than the original more truer to the great Brian sound we all know and love.

Oh man, wait till you get to The Dark Tower! I know and yes I can't wait too. But seeing that I've managed to collect all his books from charity shops since nov 2011. I need to read a few more of his books first esp ""IT" I would also recommend his novelette collections, like Hearts in Atlantis and Four Past Midnight. Both very excellent. I' ve been very lucky in that within the past six months. I've collected all his books for only an pound or two in charity shops. So I've got them all ready to read.

I've just entered into the Stephen King Universe. And have already spotted an Smile reference, Within the novel "Salem's Lot" at page 202 quote "The Child Is the Father of the man". Has anyone else spotted any other Beach Boys bits & pieces within the works of Stephen King?. Many thanks That quote is from William Wordsworth, IIRC, a poet. Sorry for being pedant, BTW. Damn I did know it was from Mr Wordworth but i suppose I just wanted to think that SK knew about Smile
