Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: What are you going to listen to on Brian's birthday?

You lucky people who get to be there in Montreal tomorrow I really hope they/you sing Happy Birthday to him! I was thinking about whipping up a couple CDs consisting of 70 songs from the Beach Boys, his solo albums, and some of his favorites he's mentioned. Going to listen to Brian and the boys live, in Montreal!
I genuinely laughed out loud after seeing what your user name is....well done.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Brian's physical state and his recent back issues...then I saw that it's a thread from 2008 It's a cute and corny song, but I like it, particularly the "You Still Believe in Me" ending. Carl's voice was just so perfect.

It really was a bit nightmare-ish. To anyone here who went, if I stepped on you or your stuff, my apologies! That's a fantastic picture, and so is the one with Brian and those girls. I wish I had seen their bus! Do they tour with three buses? My aunt said she saw a bright green one, an orange one, and another one being escorted into the back of the festival by police cars and she thinks it may have been them.

The crowd was incredible. I stood in front of some guys who were singing along to every single thing; Heroes and Villains, Sail on Sailor, even Kokomo Everyone was so enthusiastic, dancing and singing, and David's guitar playing really made everyone cheer. He's too cool. It was also neat to hear everyone acknowledging Brian when he was introduced, whenever he sang solo, or when he got up to play bass.

Oh gosh, the video I took would probably make you dizzy because of how shaky it is, but I'll see what I can do. No promises, though! By the way, no Arcade Fire cover. Brian played bass for Barbara Ann and Fun, Fun, Fun which was cool! And it was Mike who said, "As we used to say in southern California: that was bitchin!" I don't know what prompted whoever it was to say/tweet that Mike was acting like a douche...maybe because he kept talking to the crowd, but he wasn't being douchey. He was awesome, IMO. When Help Me, Rhonda started I shouted at Al to sing from his heart...I'm just gonna tell myself that he heard me, because he sang the hell out of it

What a freaking amazing show that was. I don't even have words right now, I'm still in awe over it! This whole festival thing is so not my scene, but today the atmosphere at the stage was incredible and I loved every second of it. I also managed to get in the very first row behind the pit, along the rail, probably less than 50 yards from the center of the stage. I hope all of y'all who went had fun!
I was SO paranoid yesterday because the weather forecast said there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms all day. The only time it rained noticeably was during God Only Knows...it seriously lasted pretty much only the duration of that song and then stopped.
Good lord, that was amazing. Can't say it enough!
