..all of the discussion about acetates raises the question in my mind concerning whether or not the legendary Durrie Parks acetates were found and used in this great project--

Secondly, if there is or will be a chronicle available of what the source(s) for each track on the Box is.  That would be fascinating.
 

For $146, getting 5 CDs, two LPs, and two 45s PLUS a lavish package and booklet, that's a steal. For $110 like it was yesterday, it's like looting Fort Knox!

..considering all that has been accomplished--yes accomplished--by SMiLE fans in keeping the Summer alive concerning this great body of work, I would say the price is not an issue--we're in great shape...

..this is in the same vein as the thread re Big Bag of Vegetables and the SMiLE Sessions multiple cd boot boxes (very difficult to obtain).

 A source told me that about 40 to 50 percent of BBOV hasn't been booted until recently.  Perhaps the things being discussed here are in that body of audio...

..Secret SMiLe, Psychadelic Sounds and Sessions Tape make a great addition any collection, but that still doesn't  account for about 50% of a 9 cd or so box set having never been booted on a large scale and only known to a very few insider collectors.

When my friend becomes "board active" again,  he'll publish a promised track list for BBOV.

So this tells me that somebody came up with tape or acetate sources (that's why I was guessing Durrie Parks) that have not seen the light of day until recently.

It gets more interesting all the time...

What's rumored to be on those acetates anyway?

Perhaps one of the high-level BB experts can fill in those gaps.  But any new thing from SMiLE which hadn't been released yet causes me to wonder if that wasn't one of the sources...

Interesting. Never heard of the set but I've heard of the three that Jason talked about.

Secret Smile is probably the best one. Highlights of it include three "Tones" sessions, the backing track to the Harpsichord version of Wonderful, and a stereo version of I Love to Say Da-Da. The last two are in poor quality though.

I do know about SS, PS and the SOT Source.  I was really excited about the Tones tracks when I first heard Secret Smile.

I am hoping to see a track list from BBOV when our friend can break away from some personal business and post it.  The statement that about half the material  having  never been released blew me away.

BTW TLOS IMHO has some obvious SMiLE influence, and also some Mount Vernon and Fairway.
