The Best Buy I went to was a joke. I went looking for the 2-CD set to tide me over until I get the big box from Amazon. I'm searching everywhere and not finding it. Then I notice a stack of the big boxes by one of the employee lookup computers. Holy foda is that thing gorgeous!!! Finally some Best Buy chick asks me if I need any help. I ask if they have the 2-CD set. She looks in the computer and sees they're supposed to have 8 of them and directs me to the "B for Beach Boys" section if it wasn't with the new releases. I told her I already looked there. At this point Missy became confused and talked to some other chica putting out new releases. This girl tells Missy that everything is out and points her to the stack of the box sets. Finally a manager comes over and I ask him. He says everything is out. I'm like well this girl tells me your computer says you have 8 of them but all I see is the big box set which I'm getting from Amazon. He says he'll check in back. 10 minutes later he rudely says "here ya go"

But, no matter. I have the 2-CD set and my box is on its way to me from Amazon. All is right with the world. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some listening to do....

Yeah I know, I seem to recall hearing it as well.

Just trying to be like some of these bitchers and find something to complain about. Apparently the sarcasm didn't quite shine through like I intended.   :-)

My box is on its way from Amazon, going to pick up the 2-CD at Best Buy in another hour and a half when they open, but I swear if the Barnyard Billy lyrics aren't to be found anywhere I will go all Howard Dean scream and claim this is the worst box set of all time! Yeaaaah!

But seriously how awesome would it be if someone could take that line from the IJWMFTT doc and insert it into "Barnyard"   :-)

Ack, you guys are killing me here... Patience... fun weekend ahead... take my mind off of the wonderful music that will be mine come Tuesday...

I have to give Capitol props for not letting this thing leak. Simply amazing.

Reading that some of you have gotten it already makes me insanely jealous, but my 2CD will be here Tuesday with the big box arriving a few days later.

The more I hear "Baby Mine" the more I love it. Simply beautiful...

apart from the tracks on the 30 Years boxset, my first exposure was the Dave Prokopy tapes.

I think I prefer the stereo "Good Vibes (original lyrics)" from Purple Chick with Brian's "gotta keep those lovin good vibrations a-happen with her" on top of the "hum dee dums" but really we're nitpicking.

But "Heroes" is freakin amazing...

So if you buy the box set, you would have everything that is included on the other instances of the release, correct?

It would appear that way, at least from a musical standpoint.

The 2-CD set includes the SMiLE button, which does not seem to appear in the box.
The 2-LP set features a different insert (which probably contains at least some of the same info as the CD book in the box, hence why it is not duplicated)

That's my understanding anyway.

And who knows what they have up their sleeves in terms of the digital download...
