Who sang Barbara Ann? Matt and Brian Eichenberger together? And did Darian sing Darlin'? Last question: :-) No I Get Around?

55  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Brian at Bridge School Benefit on: October 24, 2014, 10:35:50 PM
With Alan ànd David. Brian (or his team) posted a couple of pictures from rehearsals.

Who played bass? Wasn't Bob Lizik... Guy in picture on FB looked like Brett Simons.... Anyone handling the high vocals?
57  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / George Fest 28 Sep - Brian Wilson performing on: September 03, 2014, 10:53:33 AM
BW will perform during George Fest at El Rey Theatre celebrating the re-release of George Harrisons 6 Apple Records' albums.

Setlist is up on setlist.fm
59  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: New BW gig, 8/30/14 on: August 31, 2014, 06:28:19 AM
BW posted some pictures on Facebook. Can't see Probyn and Paul in them. Were they there? (judging from the saxophones in one picture I guess Paul was...)

Who's in the band? Bob Lizik still on bass I hope? Would to know what the set list was. Thanks for the report!

This is really tasteless. I will look into the possibility of removing "my" vote. Why call me "Donald" anyway?Huh

If the people behind this are found, please ban them for life.
62  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: New BB's Movie on: February 18, 2014, 11:04:55 PM
I just received a notification that I signed a petition to release an extended version of "The Real Beach Boy" doc... Although I never did such a thing. The e-mail is adressed to "Donald". Anyone else had this happen to them?

I agree that the interaction on this forum has improved greatly in the last few weeks (months?). My gratitude to everyone who makes this possible.

67  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: All I Want To Do (live) - MIC on: September 07, 2013, 05:48:04 AM
Very likely Ed Carter.

I remember that on the released Live in London LP the parts of the additional players were muted in varying degrees. Horns are mostly audible and Ed Carters lead guitar on "Bluebirds...". This may have something to do with the suddenly audible guitar on "All I want to do"

He's recording overdubs for "Carry me Home" which is to be included on MIC after all. All copies of the box set are being recalled.
70  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: BAD Tour/Setlist '13 on: July 20, 2013, 09:14:05 PM
That probably isn't the whole setlist since WIBN, GOK and SJB aren't mentioned. Al on partial lead on two more at least.
71  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 50th Anniversary live double CD up for pre-order on Amazon on: May 18, 2013, 02:12:13 PM
True.  I am quite confident it's a studio recording at the least.

Hey, they used Dennis' and Carls vocals too from older recordings and those sound great. Very nice addition: at the shows I attended I didn't see or hear the video tributes.

Got the CD today. Why does Heroes & Villains sound so awful? I have a hunch it's because it has Brian vocals fromBWPS flown in...
73  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wilson + Korthof Ancestral Countries on: March 24, 2013, 03:24:09 AM
I would think so :-). I did do a quick check if I was related to the Korthofs. Of course I wasn't.
74  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Wilson + Korthof Ancestral Countries on: March 24, 2013, 02:06:47 AM
Andrew, Nice work! Sophia Kaarls was indeed born in Holland (Amsterdam to be exact). Gerrit Korthof was born in Muiderberg.
