"This thing of people taking turns to bring up a ML quote and proceeding to criticise the man is getting tiresome. And before anyone comes out with a "he brings it upon himself", everybody here, and most specially the moderators, is responsible for the seemingly unredeemable shitty turn this board has taken this last year. "
I agree that sometimes the criticism is excessive and unfair, he wrote great lyrics and held the group together for years. But the RnR Hall of Fame speech, he owns that and all the bricks thrown his way. Unless you liked the speech?

"That all makes sense. I'm just curious what in the world restarted his latest round of rage on the topic. My best guess is simply that he has had way less of a vested interest in making nice with Brian or anyone to do with Brian post-C50."
Why was Mike so angry the night he and the group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? That was one of the crowning achievements of the group's career, totally deserved. He should have been all smiles and happy that night and celebrated the achievement. Instead, he goes off all angry and gives a ridiculous speech and embarrasses himself. Go figure.

I had hopes this book would not be a rehash of the Brian Wilson drug stories, but this excerpt from the Daily Mail seems to indicate otherwise. I suppose one cannot go through a history of the Beach Boys without talking about how the group declined in the mid to late 60's due to the deterioration in Brian Wilson's health and his massive use of drugs. I know that a lot of this has been written about before, but maybe this version will have even more detail and the perspective of the ultimate insider. It seems like this book will be packed with disturbing, lurid stories of sex, drugs and rock and roll, with a double dose of massive ego on top.

How many and when? Asking because 'generally' would be a pretty broad statement to make considering video evidence shows he has had more 'on' nights than 'off'.
When's the last M&B show you went to, and what did you think about Bruce's vocals on 'Wendy'?
I know it's your opinion so I will be charitable, but many will disagree with you, and some much more strongly than others.
I went to the show at the Wiltern, one at the Hollywood Bowl and the Roxy. I've never been to a Mike and Bruce show, but did enjoy the reunion show at the Hollywood Bowl.

I have been to BW concerts and his vocals generally are not good. I won't go again because I expect better when I go to a concert. I went to the Beach Boys reunion concert at the Hollywood Bowl and it looked like he did not want to be there.

That construction hard hat he wore at the American Music Awards is one of the more ridiculous looking moments from Mike's career. It's hard to believe one of the band members didn't tell him to take that stupid looking hat off, but they probably figured they would get no where with him.

I understand being in the rock and roll business, as a young guy, in the late 60's and early 70's when long hair was really in, that he wanted to compensate for it. At some point, as an older man who has achieved success, it shouldn't matter.
