Syd's change in appearance was of his own doing though, and a result or side affect of his mental illness. He willingly shaved off all of his hair, as well as his eyebrows.

Yes in 1974. Syd went bald the natural way too. lol

I don't think his preference for jeans and a t-shirt (sometimes a tanky) is necessarily a symptom of his mental illness either. I believe Syd suffered from severe anxiety (among other thinngs) but the thought that he may have been schizophrenic is given far too much weight.

Syd was a talented guy who did too many drugs and discovered the music lifestyle didn't suit him. He preferred to paint, work in his garden, go for walks, come home  and  read. He had enough in royalties to do that. He just wanted to be left alone.

I originally wrote "content to paint"... etc... but I don't think he was ever content. He knew something was not right and was determined to self diagnose and self treat his illness. But I think schizophrenia is pretty much laughed off by anyone who truly knows.

I remember reading one interview where his sister Rosemary or Roseanne or whatever basically claimed that Syd was not crazy just selfish or something, that his mental illness was overblown and that it was more along the lines of what you just had posted. It was in on of those books I that I cannot remember the name of.

Rosemary Bremen, and the book you’re referring to was called Comfortably Numb by Mark Blake

It is actually Rosemary Breen

I am a relatively new convert to the world of Frank Sinatra. I was not all that familiar of his music during the process of growing up ( I mean wow he died when I was like 12) but not too long ago someone on the PSF forum posted some of his stuff and it made me want to check it out. I did and I must say that I think I quite like it. I have been listening to that thingy he did with AC Jobim a lot lately for instance. Very relaxing yet cool!

That is crazy funny I have seen the original episode though and it actually literally fart sounds . I do like electronic music though as I  spent at raves in my younger days  but it was more the chill sound

This is where a bunch of those epic "Brian as Gotham Detective Harvey Bullock" pics came from:

Brian looks like a pimp 😆

Why did he hold his square like a joint though?

So by that do you mean the copyright will still expire in the United States?
7  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Caribou Ranch (1975) fanmix on: October 18, 2018, 11:58:49 AM
Sounds interesting
You can listen to it in shanghaijoe’s Sweet Mountain alternate album on YouTube, posted above.

BTW, regarding said Sweet Mountain album, “Awake” is credited solely to Floyd Tucker. Who this guy even was is still kinda up in the air, but the song definitely isn’t credited to Brian and David.

Thank you very much it is appreciated

Good question because should that not mean that theoretically someone can cover anything that was booted but not rereleased on these extensions? Maybe maybe not?

I wonder when they will stick Sweet and Bitter on a comp, it used to be available on You Tube, but was taken down.  It's a pretty good song.

What is that? Any information to share on that song?

"When I recounted some of specific moments of greatness from the show and commented on the fact that his band is a powerhouse of heavy hitters, he answered with a simple “I know. That’s why they’re in my band.”"

Love it Smiley

I think it probably depends on the specific question as to which is the coldest place in the USA: coldest average temperature, coldest average winters, coldest average coldest day, etc. I'd think North Dakota or northwestern Minnesota would be the worst, being so far from any moderation caused by big bodies of water. But I'd guess at our coldest, we're not so far off Siberia's coldest. Just not as often or for as long.

I was actually just talking about this but having been to North Dakota during winter one time it made my Colorado winters look like Hawaiian winters. Oh dear how can someone live there?! The culture there is weird too no offense but you know how every state has its own vibe? Well it it is like the fog in silent hill was replaced by snow. I actually felt weirded out at night and the cold was literal bone chilling ouchie ouch sh*t that hurts type of cold. I mean there was some beautiful land but there is a different kind of living.

Minnesota on the other hand apparently can actually get hot in the summer! I was shocked and awed. The people there are so nice though very welcoming like everybody is your friend. Complete strangers see you got an armful of food trying to get your keys out and they are like oh no sweetie heard I got that frozen whatever go on now get your key ok go it , good here is your turkey alright now GO Vikings! On the real, if I ever did have to leave and move I would indeed go to St Paul.

At the risk of sounding like an air head um in layman’s terms what does this all mean? What is different for the musical artist and how much more will they make? I saw the dude above made no offense a small pittance I mean thirteen dollars? I am not trying to rub salt in your wounds but ouch. I feel bad now because in college I was Miss LimeWire and BearShare that is how I got into the music that turned me on to The Beach Boys in the first place (for the record I heard a couple of songs of dubious legality back then at a party which is what made me troll for those songs in the first place) I used to think of Metallica and such are rich this is not a big deal not realizing I and so many like myself were taking bread from the table of people like mr moderator.

For the record I bought endless harmony afterwards so I do legally own the different version of Til I Die which was one of the two songs I talked about above so once My Solution is legally released I can purchase it and fulfill my part of the bargain so someone make it happen please.

Well cat's birthday party finished. It's been fun. Cat got nice gifts, souvenirs. Enjoyed time meeting his feline friends & many things. Frankly, to describe it would be written with 5 paragraphs. In short, good day.

I'll check google pics when Internet's fast.
p.s. Thanks again for apology message you sent & deleting posts in SWD thread. Appreciate it.

Btw, I don't even know what's "root canal". By description, it's sth. to do with speech difficulty.

You are more than welcome!

Happy birthday to kitty as well!

I have a question for Mr. Desper, if I may. On the Carl Wilson version of SOS, does anything other than his vocal track exist? Any dialogue in between, etc

Ooh that brings me to quite a question: the version that Carl sang, how different did the backing track sound? The tempo sounded the same like instrumental track released on Hawthorne CA set so I imagine it sounded somewhat similar, but I am oh so curious. And apologies if you have answered this in the past but did you ever hear the cassette tape demo with Van Dyke Parks with Brian singing? That is one think I would have loved to have heard!

It's official - I've girl crush at Zooey Deschanel. :D Mother of 2 & still looks young, didn't age. I checked cover vids in which she sings in duet with various people & besides the voice, really liked the way she moved her lips, it looked sweet & somewhat coy (don't deny, when we see smb. sing, we inadvertently look at lips). Also, I think she's smarter than her image of girl with bangs.
What's YOUR boy/ girl crushes, folks? 'Fess up! Smiley

Probably Lauren Cohan (Maggie from The Walking Dead) for me Smiley
