I just uploaded these three little videos. I believe they are from some kind of "Forrest Gump" promo-cd-rom.

Did you hear Macca's Ukulele-version of "Something"? That's awesome. It's a great (well, great sounding) instrument !

I read in a Cash-book that he and Brian were inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame at the same day (or ceremony).
Brian said on Charlie Rose that he didn't like Cash's voice very much.

That video is a piece of art !
BTW Brian Wilson makes a guest appearance in the new Cash-video http://youtube.com/watch?v=5miI5Jq8wQ4

He is joined by an allstar-lineup, including Lisa Marie Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Kid Rock, Iggy Pop a.m.o.

Is All Summer Long on that site somewhere?

Couldn't find it but I wonder who "The Beach Boys" are on that track

I hope some of Blondie's gigs will be available online, but I doubt it.

It's almost a week since the concert and there are no videos, audio recordings or even pictures up? Did I miss something?

9763  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Dick Dale on: November 05, 2006, 04:00:58 PM
I just come home from watching Dick Dale in concert. That guy is awesome !!
He played guitar, harmonica, trumpet, bass and drums. He played rhythm on bass while his bass-player played lead (all on the same bass!!), he did the same with the drums and then played bass with the drum sticks ! See this to get an idea (unfortunately video and sound are not totally in sync, it's not my video btw) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9A7oFInJoo

He's not your nice guy, he's a real rocker (I like that name btw).
If Mike and Bruce are pretending to be a "surf band", then I saw the real king of surf tonight and he ain't no nostalgia act. If you get a chance, go and see him, but take care of your ears.

The Beach Boys in an episode of Home Improvement. Unfortunately I was 10 seconds late with recording at the time. But the rest is worth watching as well...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQoUh87rAnE

It's good to hear (not good to watch, considering Mike's moves), but unfortunately it seems to be missing "Surfer girl", which wasn't even performed completely. Anyway, thanks for uploading, it's always great to see/hear them with Matt !

Great, I always wanted to see the Boys (or just one of them) with Richard. The "Happy endings"-video didn't show them together. Thanks so much ! Wonder how Brian's appearance came about? And is that David Leaf as second trumpet-player?
9770  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian and Al at the Royce...Review on: November 02, 2006, 12:35:10 PM
Reading this makes me wishing even more I was at the show. Heck, one time listening to Brian's band doing "California" would be awesome !
9771  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: How about this? Brian's doll.... on: November 01, 2006, 08:52:46 AM
I don't understand what some of you have against such a doll. It's common practice among rock-stars. Elvis has 4 or 5. Jim Morrison, John Lennon also got one. It has nothing to do with the music and no one claims that. It's the same as when you buy a poster, just more expensive.

All of the above are dead rock stars. What does that say? Heh heh!  Grin

Come on Rocker, even you must think it's a little bit naff? I'm not so much against the doll itself, more the motives behind it i.e. you pay DOUBLE for a signed doll. It is also a little scary. If someone brought that to my door last night for Hallow'een I'd have been scared to death!

The hell with the doll, gimme some new music / releases Brian!

Well then it's Brian's fault that he is one of the last living legends ?  Wink

I'm not saying that this isn't done just for the money or something, but like I said, it's common practice. And if someone is willing to buy an autographed doll for a higher price, they should go ahead. It's just marketing, it has nothing to do with the musical side of Brian's career. I'd even say that he probably doesn't know such a figure exists.
They could ask for even more if there are still people who'd buy this. I don't like that doll-stuff but I can understand it. Finally Brian is treated like other major rockstars (if it's good or bad)

Awesome, there's this clip (also to be seen in American Band I believe) where Al, Dave and carl are standing around a mic. I think I even see Brian there on the other side, but that should be wrong I guess.
