I don't think Melinda (or whoever runs Brian's business) will agree to an outside produer without Brian's involvement. Maybe Darian AND Brian prducing would get an ok. But at this moment in Brian's solo-carreer (the success of TLOS) I don't think that they are so keen on a reunion. That's probably Brian's thing. If he really wants to get together with the boys, then maybe, but as long as he let's the decision in the hands of his management.... well, I don't know...

"Lonliness is a very special place, to forget, something that I've never done"
Now that is one of my favorite lyrics on Dennis' work. It sounds like something Kris Kristofferson would write. Very touching imho

really like the track of this song but the vocal/melody is all over the place, really feels like Dennis is having a less than together kind of day . Am i right in hearing he says "my needles kinda dirty so i thought id mix myself another drink" hmmmm wonder how this song would have fit on MIU? Funny you should ask...the song was actually rerecorded for the Light Album, in a session produced by Bruce & Jimmy G., and engineered by Chuck Britz, at Cherokee Studio. Carl played on it. Looks to have been an instrumental track only, but I'm sure if they would've done vocals for a Beach Boys version, the lyrics would've been majorily rewritten! I guess those lyrics were just to have something to sing. Don't think they were ever to be used on a release. IIRC there's another version of TFB that uses a part of "San Miguel". Like that version even better than this one....

Seattle Washington 12-75 is around. It's not great quality but it was filmed off the monitors or perhaps by local news. Jumpin Jack Flash and Take Care Of Your Feel are in the set.
When you say "off the monitors" it sounds like someone in the audience might've done that. So that wouldn't be on the list, but if the local news filmed it, it of course would fit. Can we get more info on that?

I would think Love could look to Dylan as a model of these things - the bootleg series continues to make available outtakes of Dylan's work from throughout his career, including live concerts - and many artists (most) make exclusive download tracks available as well. It may be that the money these releases/downloads would generate just isn't enough to interest the Lovester.
Is Mike really the reason that the site isn't up yet?

Everyone's in Love with You? I've never seen a clip of them performing that.
They did it on the Melbourne '78 show if I remember rightly... so maybe it's that? I think I remember seeing another DVD with random live clips (ie: not just from one concert) that featured Everyone's In Love With You as well and I think that was the same one. Yes, probably from the Melbourne-show: The Beach Boys: The Broadcast Archives is a collection of live performances from the Californian surf rockers with their unique sound of close vocal harmonies. The performances include material from their earliest live TV appearances in the U.S.A and live in Australia.
Featured tracks include, Good Vibrations, Surfin USA, Help Me Rhonda, Fun Fun Fun, Do It Again, Wendy, Little Deuce Coupe, Heroes And Villains, Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow, I Get Around, Hawaii, Everyones In Love With You, Long Tall Texan, God Only Knows, In My Room, Wouldnt It Be Nice and Shut Down

I guess that wouldn't count as a concert. More like a TV-appearance or something, but thanks for mentioning it. I liked that one. I might be wrong here, but I think the guys played Michigan at the Pontiac Silverdome one year in the late 70's . And if I remember correctly, all shows had cameras showing the concert on a bigscreen. I wouldn't even know who to ask or get any imput on this. Wouldn't it also be a good idea to see if there were any shows filmed of Carl's solo tour too ?? I don't think that any Carl-shows were filmed, but fortunately there were some radio-broadcasts, which means that recordings are there in a good quality. If they use cameras for a big screen I don't think it means that the shows are also recorded, does it? Anyone remembers when the AVO-session by Mike & Bruce in swiss was? And what about Brian's Smile and Pet Sounds-concerts? How many were filmed and which ones? Couldn't find an answer in the booklets. EDIT: Thanks to Christian !

Look at The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd... no-one complained/complains when these guys reform despite their toll.
Was that meant as ironic, or are you just not aware that a lot of people complain? Hmmm...when Pink Floyd reunited at Live 8, all the members were still alive & there...at least all the members who recorded the songs they peformed that day. So I can't imagine what the complaint would've been about. It was as authentic a reunion as anyone could've hoped for. As for Led Zep, sure Bonzo's gone, but his son was there...the only people I'm aware of complaining about that reunion were the ones who couldn't get tickets (and maybe Dave Grohl, who had hoped to drum for them!). Aye, I guess no-one complained about Syd's absence! Would a BB's reunion bolstered by sons of Dennis, CArl and Al work? Well, Matt was a great (!) addition when he toured with the Beach Boys. Carl B. (I believe, maybe Justyn)) said that he would like to be part of a BBs-reunion

Could you post the tracklist? Maybe then it would be easier. I think I once heard a recording of Mike doing a Hank Williams song, but I can't remember which (it might've been "Your cheatin' heart")

The Hank Williams song he also did was Hey Good Lookin' Yeah, I just watched some Hank-videos on youtube and remembered it. Thanks. For which reason was it recorded?

Ok, roll your eyes, but we all know that this question would be asked at one point or another: What songs could they do on a "album" that uses some vintage singing (Dennis and Carl)? I would hope for "California slide", I already can hear some great background vocals on that one.
Personally I think a album with some old tracks (featuring the voices of Carl and Dennis) wouldn't be unusual but it could, if well done, sell some units (see the "new" Elvis-christmas-album). Throw in new songs, like DFTS, and you could have a very interesting album.
