Gave it a 4. The guys are really rocking and it just boosts out of your stereo. "Fun fun fun" for example is unbelievable. Dennis and Carl just letting it go before the intro. I really dig it and a big part is Dennis' drumming which is incredible powerful. Must've been a thrill to hear him live. Bootlegs show that Brian did sing, for example on the ending of "California girls" but I don't know how often during the whole oncert he is singing. His mic also seems to be mixed very low.

Amen. Sure miss Carl. While his writing skills were admittedly limited, his singing voice and his ability to perform live are what made the Brian-less Beach Boys shows still enjoyable. He was quite the musical workhorse and quite a perfectionist. Sort of like another deceased "brother", Maurice Gibb. Carl and Maurice were so much alike in their roles and talents.
I'll always love Carl for him firing Ernie Knapp after he rejoined the BBs in '82. Who is Ernie Knapp ? I'm glad he fired Adrian Baker, too....

Any ideas who is doing the woo-ha-haa's in 'Baby Blue'? Starting at 1:44. Always sounded very Brian'ish to these (possibly deluded) ears....
From the first time I heard it back in 1979, that's always been Carl to my ears. Certainly not Brian as his upper range back then wasn't anything like that smooth. Note to self: next time, read entire thread before pontificating - it helps stop you looking like an ass. Thanks guys. To me it always sounded a bit 'shrill' to be Carl - but I guess Mr Boyd's evidence is the clincher here. For the 50th anniversary we need to get a stack-o-vocals album along with a Blondie/Ricky concert

Those are mine. I had a project file for the rest of the album I was working on that died with my laptop and never really started working on them again. I have a bit more free time these days, so maybe I'll work on finishing the album. Cool. Those are great, great videos !! Very well done ! In fact I post links to them whenever someone asks me about Pet Sounds, etc. I guess it's a lot of work. Someone from Capitol should talk with you and release this stuff on DVD as a bonus. Or make them part of an official website. Mike backstage singing a bit of "Sumahama" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fq5kXg9LP4&feature=related

Sounds very Brian, indeed. I guess it's Bruce though. Sounds exactly like his VERY high voice at the end of "Endless harmony" Re: He came down I always thought it was Carl who wrote it. So, it was Brian. Cool. Great song with very good gospel-piano. In fact I thought it might've been Blondie or Ricky because I neevr heard any gospel-piano by Brian or any other Beach Boy How 'bout Brian's gospel-piano on "That Same Song" a few years later? Perhaps not AS gospely as "He Come Down", but gospel still. Not as impressive as HCD. But I like this guy's playing : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFeMd3HRtTg

Undisclosed TV studio in 1968. Apparently includes an interview where Dennis, of all people, really raps enthusiastically about TM!
Nothing unusual about that since Dennis was the one who introduced the others to Maharishi and was the first of the BB's into (and out of) TM. Sure, nothing unusual. What I meant to write was that it was more to do with the manner in which he was talking about TM, i.e. maybe a put-on. I think he's being sincere in that footage, although you are right, his "manner" is different than in subsequent years. I think its due to the fact that he'd be ambushed with permanently "manner" altering doses of LSD two different times in the coming months. He was never really the same after that and I think this Friends/TM footage really illustrates the difference as his whole approach to speaking changed soon after. Allright guys, now is the time that someone should upload the clip of Dennis talking..... Can'y you simply find it on youtube and post the link? You're usually so good at this! Thanks. But I never saw the clip of Denny talking about TM on youtube or anywhere else. If no one uploaded it during the last two weeks, I don't think it's there....

Didn't he sing Sound of Silence at a Paul Simon tribute in the nineties? Never heard that one either.
I believe so, but I don't know if that Paul Simon-tribute was recorded/televised, but the induction of Leiber/Stoller must've been recorded and televised as the clip I posted shows

Good to hear such great music on the broadcast radio.
Interesting, though "Clambake" is not great by any means. One of the worst songs (and movies) Presley ever did. The short "Clambake reprise" on the soundtrack is nice though, as well as some other songs from it. I wondered many times if Brian has heard it and what he thinks about that "Shortnin' bread"-melody. It's also interesting to note that the horn sounds on Elvis' "Speedway" from a year later than Clambake sound very, very much like what Brian used in 2004 for "City blues".

One of nine songs performed on Twien TV show, 1968. Undisclosed TV studio in 1968. Apparently includes an interview where Dennis, of all people, really raps enthusiastically about TM! Thank you ! Would love to see the whole interview with Dennis about TM. I've seen GOK from that Twien TV show on youtube. Was also playback. So I guess they just mimed to the recordings and there's no chance of a live version frrom then, is there ?
