1. Pagan Baby 2. Sailor’s Lament 3. Chameleon 4. Have You Ever Seen the Rain? 5. (Wish I Could) Hideaway 6. Born to Move 7. Hey Tonight 8. It’s Just a Thought 9. Molina 10. Rude Awakening, No. 2 For some rerason this band gets quite overlooked on this borad. And this is an album that's also very overlooked. It shows CCR with a new sound compared to their previous albums, while still being very basic. Great stuff. Would be interesting to know what Fogerty had come up with on the next one if he had worked on that as on all the other albums.

So far, my favorite photo is the big one of Glen Campbell on stage with the Boys. I'd like to see more of Campbell as a Beach Boy. Anybody know offhand the exact number of shows he played? Any TV appearances?
Found this not too long ago on the web. Was new to me. On TV-shows Brian had to play. Probably a contractual thing or something, therefor you don't see Bruce on "California girls" and "Barbara Ann" . After that, there were not too many TV-appearances, which begs the question "WHY?". Why didn't they do promo for Pet sounds, GV, H&V, Wild honey on TV?

Jon, I may have asked this before. But, what are the odds, in you opinion, of ever seeing a Carl Wilson bio? Some great stuff there and I think there is so much below the surface, behind the scenes, the early years and the later years, that would make a fascinating, low key, yet powerful story.
The youngest Wilson brother, quietly taking the reins of the Beach boys while his older brothers deal with other issues and interests. The strong, gentle baby brother. His struggles with drugs and temptations. His insistance on high quality BB performances. The solo years and music, the return, his relationship with Dean Martin, his wives, Billy, and Dino. His battle with Cancer. And so much more on his relationships and influences within the band.
That is a great idea! Out of the whole band, I think Carl is the most overlooked. Which is a shame, with everything that he did behind the scenes. I mean, the guy was just barely out of school and he had to basically "replace" his brother in the band that was going head to head with bands such as The Beatles. Being a kid just out of school is damn near impossible in itself. I once read that because Carl kept his private life very secret to the outside world, that's the way his family and friends want to keep it. But maybe they are also scared by all those terrible Beach Boys-books that did more damage to the band than one might think. Fortunately the last decade or so saw the release on some very, very good books written with respect while telling the truth

P.S. Check out an alternate version of Friends: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg8SO24gygUIs there a moog on this track? Listen especially on the "Let's Be Friends" part to the bassy thing around 1:12 it's super funky like a clavinet or something. Don't hear that in the album mix. I think I recognize that mix from one of the Unsurpassed Masters discs. Could be wrong though. Same as this methinks?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS8P-DI2aoIHey, that picture at 0:30 is cool. Never seen it before. And what does Carl say at the end off-mic? The Picture at 0.30 must be from I'd say late 70's?? 77 or 78?? Power of Google I don't know what Carl says at the end unfortunely Sorry I will listen more closely via headphone or even cut out and clean up the end bit will report back.. If anyone has that picture, could you please post it? Regarding Carl: Thanks, it's not that important, so just take your time if you wanna try it.

While I am not that excited about the Disney album (unlike BWRG, because I am a Gershwin fan), I hope he does at least one song with toy instruments, as he talked about several years ago.
When did Brian say this? I think it was after "BWPS" was released, though it possibly could have been before. As I recall, he said he'd like to make a children's album using toy instruments. I only remember seeing it mentioned once (unlike the rock and roll album). You're right. I totally forgot about that. I think the Disney-album could really be fitting for that kind of approach, but I don't think it'll be that way

I'm deeply sorry for starting trouble. Please believe me, when I say I never wanted this to happen. I should have known by telling my story, it would cause this type of reaction. It's better for me not to talk about Denny being my bio dad, I won't bring It up again. Delete my thread so no more trouble will come. Thank you. Bless you all.
Don't take it too seriously. It's not your fault that certain people are so sick that concentrate their sense of life on other people they don't have nothing to do with. This is fandom getting into serious sickness. You have a link to the story, as somebody already mentioned, and it is part of who you are. But none of us has any right to go into personal things. I haven't read the blueboard (Brian Wilson's message board) but you have to understand that people there are terribly blinded and drawn to the Beach Boys, acting as if it was their life. It's almost like a religion to them. I stopped posting there a long time ago and don't miss it in any way. Stay around. If you want to learn about Dennis and the Beach Boys, this is the place where you can get lots of informations. Become just another member of this board and if there's something very personal that you'd like to know you can always contact someone of the mods via pm and ask if it would be a good idea to post it.

Thanks - I heard the instrumental of IWMTLH being played at 1:11 but it didn't sound like those harmonies would really fit in the song...but they seem to be a perfect match pitch-wise to that song. Another reason I asked was because the description on the video said it was from a 1968 session - maybe the uploader got the year wrong. Thanks again! Well, now that you're saying..... I kinda wonder where in the song this shows up..... Maybe it was for an alternative vocal arrangement?

These guys have been playing since 1961 - I didn't expect them to sound incredible. I just really dug the vibe of it - As has been said, Al was energetic and sounded great (even him fumbling with his amp made me laugh a bit), Bruce seemed into it. Mike did look a little iffy, but other than that it was a great set - It was even nice seeing Stamos add some energy to it.
I think Mike and Al were a little nervous being on stage together again. Not necessarily uncomfortable, but nervous. At least it seemed to me like that. EDIT: BTW Anyone ever saw the concert at the White House from '83 and could say something about it?

Good luck ! I don't think anyone here has a problem with you posting about your experiences. I'd be the last one to tell you you shouldn't. So, if you want to share with us what you'll be told by your mother, please do so. But everyone will understand if there are things that are too personal that you might not wanna talk about. Anyway, once again: Good luck !

I only saw "California girls" and part of "Sloop John B" yet and it's great to see the guys together again. Al looks older than I remembered it from his Rhonda-video, but what's with Mike? His face looks bloated. Is he sick? I hope not. Anyway, now I'm going right back to watching.
BTW I love their clothings. I hope they will wear this kind of outfit for the big 50th anniversary reunion-show with Brian and no hawaiian-shirts, etc
