If only "Soul Searchin'" were the version with Carl singing all the lead! I suspect that getting permission to release that version would be a lot tougher than the GIOMH one.
I'm really pleased that we're getting this release this summer, albeit as a subscriber bonus (and well, well worth the price), instead of yet another Greatest Hits anthology of material we already own multiple times over. Kudos to ESQ for this one!

Here's some info about "Old Yeller" from an old post by Billy Hinsche (from one of the old message boards):
"He had the first production model 'Olympic White' Fender Stratocaster. He called it 'Old Yeller' when the color faded over time."

I couldn't get in at all yesterday, so this is the first time in two days. Still not getting in via the campus connection.
Is this domain hosted on its own or does it share hosting space with another domain? And please, please don't forget to renew the domain when it expires next month!

I talked to a network guy today, told him about the problems this board's been having, and asked if he had any ideas what might be causing the outages. He thinks the problem could be on the ISP side of things (server outages, etc.).
This site hasn't been available on campus for over a week now.

The image above of Carl playing the signature model Rickenbacker is actually a photo illustration/composite. I'm the photographer for the original shot, taken in Valdosta, GA on Halloween 1986. Carl was playing -- ahem -- another company's product in the original shot (let's just say the original ax was blonde). Rickenbacker flew in the new guitar for the ad.
Carl did not live to see the signature guitar when it was released, but he was still here when Rickenbacker approached him about his signature model, so he had input into the design of the final product.
