Setlists are apparently in flux show to show. and possibly post intermission. Last show I asked the guys at the soundboard for a copy and they laughed and said they didn't have their copy yet. told me to come back after the show and I could have theirs. This was only a few minutes before the show. They did indeed receive their copy before the show and did hand it off to me afterward.

Many people, including entertainers have their wealth invested. Not in the "bank". A lot of industrious people continue to work late in life not only to remain vital and active but to avoid eating the nest egg. If I were Alan, I would do almost anything to keep up the taxes and costs of that Phifer Beach property. That area is as close to heaven as any I have seen. In that sense, he is the wealthiest Beach Boy.

Saw Bruce before a show last month, at the mall of all places. He seemed tired but was gracious and spoke with us for a few minutes and then excused himself. I was actually concerned that he was feeling tired and didn't know what to expect at the show that evening. He came out, seemingly full of energy and enthusiasm, smiling, playing the crowd, and did a two hour show with no intermission. Not the first time I met Bruce but the first in many years. He is a decent guy and a professional and has shown no others side to me professionally or personally in many years. the man is 73....seventy three years old! Same as Brian. so what if he leaves some of the keyboard work to Tim or others? He is co-fronting the BEACHBOYS. He has nothing to prove.

Good stuff. Delightful to hear the joy these encounters have brought to some of you. fun to share isn't it? Saw FM on their first tour with LB and SN.......went not knowing Bob Welch was gone. Small venue. LB doing Welch songs. SN swirling around the stage. Great melding of talent took me by surprise. Had no idea LB would become such a revered rocker and producer of music. Or that that girl swirling about would become so legendary. Or that they would all be on stage together again in four decades.

Nice piece! I have two promo lp's of POB, standard ones, not like this one. I recall when that came out. My friend had a record store and there was a lot of publicity coming through the media and promo people of the day. display pics and lots of magazine mention. there was the media tie in with the Dennis and JT movie.

How about a "director's cut" of this film? Like we see with a number of other DVD releases. Or a disc with both; cinema release and full directors cut.......? I could watch a three hour version easily. The film received such rave reviews that the extended cut could be justified/rationalized. I'd buy it and pay the price. No worry.

I've been around this and related boards for more years than I like to admit but it is always good to rehash some long archived topic of interest. I still , hard to believe, don't know every detail of the band and these people. and I seldom read archives. sure, some topics are painfully redundant but on occasion, someone brings up a juicy forgotten detail that resonates with more recent topics.

I think they are overbooking and just wearing their asses out. 200 shows this year and they aren't but about half way through. Spoke to three of them at two venues this year, 3 months apart and they just seem exhausted. I love these guys but they have taken on too much........why I'm not sure, but I don't think they are having fun and their hearts are not in it for this grueling endless tour. or so it is starting to appear. I've had my two Beachboys shows this year. I'm done. I stopped seeing the band in the 80's when I realized they were starting to book two gigs in a day on tours. It felt forced and impersonal and Ingenuous and ceased to be special. Unless they are having financial problems, I don't see why they are doing this.
