I've got Heroes and Villains in the pipeline. I've got the official smile sheet music for help as well as some midis to make the process faster. What arrangement are you looking for in particular? Smiley Smile? Smile 2004?

I'm looking specifically for The Smile Sessions arrangements, any help would be appreciated.
3  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smilers Who Make Music / SMiLE era transcriptions? on: October 11, 2018, 03:53:19 PM
Hey all!

It's been awhile.

Just checking to see if anyone has their own transcriptions of SMiLE tunes, like Child Is The Father Of The Man.

A few friends and I are trying to cover the songs and the transcriptions would be extremely beneficial.

Thanks everyone!

4  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Would Brian have continued to fuse classical and pop had Smile been released? on: June 23, 2017, 05:59:52 AM
In my opinion, Brian would've gone to a point of no return, so to speak. Think about this for a second, how much farther and deeper than SMiLE could you go? I know Brian certainly was at his peak and capable, but remember, at the time it was definitely more complex than anything ever attempted, even by today's standards.
5  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Does anyone know what model of Steinway grand Brian had in the Sandbox? on: June 16, 2017, 07:24:54 PM
It was the BR549.

What model number is this?

Send me an email with whatever you'd like and I'll mix it in with what I have and add on top of it  Smiley

This Whole World (under two minutes) wasn't on the list so I picked Our Prayer.

Hey everyone,

If anyone is interested in helping me cover these two songs, let me know! I can cover the keys and percussion on all of them. I can also do most vocals as well. However, anyone is welcome to collaborate! Let me know, and let's make some great music!!!

Here is an example:

Maybe any photos were lost to the test of time... like you said, I doubt there wasn't documentation.

I have to say: one of the most surprising and unfortunate pieces of missing media in the BBs' story (other than the Good Vibrations multitracks) has to be that there are no photos of Brian in the famous sandbox with the piano.

Right?! I completely agree. For the amount of mythos surrounding it, you'd think there would be at least some information about it. I know he kept it until he moved again (to my understanding the Steinway was in the Laurel Way house and moved with him to Bellagio), never to be seen again.

Hey guys.

I've been trying to find pictures of Brian in the sandbox working at his Steinway but I can't find any. In the Love and Mercy film there is the infamous "Good Vibrations" clip where he is sitting at the piano playing the Steinway for Mike. However I don't know enough about pianos to identify what type of Steinway it is. Concert Grand? Baby Grand? Model M? Model A? Let me know what you think.

14  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Does anyone have photos of the interior of the Laurel Way house? on: June 04, 2017, 11:25:19 AM
Hey everyone.

I always thought it would be cool to see what the inside of Brian's house looked like during his stay there. We got some insight to it during the Love and Mercy film, but it seems like (from pictures I've seen) the house has changed drastically since he moved out in 1967. Any pics would be cool. Thanks!

15  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Mike Love signed my book! on: June 04, 2017, 07:55:56 AM
Hey guys!

Just received my copy of Good Vibrations by Mike Love in the mail. I had sent it to one of his addresses asking for an autograph and possibly a letter back, (I sent him a letter as well), and he responded with a small postcard sized letter saying "Thank you for the support, hope to see you at a show! Keep up the great work!"  and a nice signature in my copy of his book. Say what you want about the guy, but this might be one of the best days of my life!

The ending coda of  Break Away gets me every time, same with the coda of Surf's Up.

20  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Does anyone know who played bass on Smiley Smile, Wild Honey, and Friends? on: May 30, 2017, 07:03:01 AM
Hey guys,

I've been actively listening to these three albums and I've read that Bruce and Brian switched off bass duties during the sessions but I am not exactly sure. Anyone have some insight?

Does anyone know how strict they are being about the meet and greet? I know he is only signing books, but I was wondering if I'd get in trouble for bringing a Pet Sounds cd and a sharpie to get a signature from Brian and or Al. Maybe if I'm just a kid they'll cut me some slack??? Cheesy
22  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Will there be a Smiley Smile 180G Vinyl Reissue? on: May 29, 2017, 09:42:16 AM
Hey everyone,

Smiley Smile is definitely one of my favorite BB albums, and being the 50th anniversary I thought they would release something. So far I've only seen the 1967 Sunshine Tomorrow release announced (can't wait to pick it up) and Wild Honey 180G Reissue (can't wait to pick this up either). I know a lot of people, including the band, push aside Smiley Smile as something they could live without in the catalog, but I think I can speak for most people saying that this would be something great to have, especially exposing the kids in my generation to the greatness that is that time period in Beach Boys history. Any thoughts?

25  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smilers Who Make Music / Need some help with Surf's Up! on: May 26, 2017, 07:22:07 PM
Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on finishing my cover of Surf's Up but I have run into a bit of an issue. Due to the layering of harmonies and massive amounts of reverb on the master track, it is hard for me to pick apart the harmonized chords at the end of the song. I can't tell if the progression is Fm-EbM-Fm6-EbM or it is AbM-Gm-Fm-EbM. Can anyone help me? Any tips would be appreciated- at least I got the other parts figured out!
